At AFH Pakistan, we are looking for a Media and Communications Officer to join us in our newly established Pakistan office in Islamabad. You will join us on a full-time basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary which is negotiable depending on experience.
Job Purpose:
The Media and Communications Officer will play a crucial role in enhancing AFH Pakistan's visibility, reputation, and impact through effective communication with external and internal stakeholders. By effectively showcasing AFH Pakistan’s work and achievements, the Media and Communications Officer will contribute to the organization's overall vision and mission.
Key responsibilities:

Assist the Country Director in the formulation of Media and Communications strategy of AFH Pakistan.

Review all existing brochures and leaflets prepared by AFH Pakistan in the country.

Develop and maintain good links with the media; organize media events.

In consultation with the Country Director and UK staff manage the web page contents of AFH Pakistan country programme; ensure regular posting of information; ensure page is up to date, accurate and compelling.

Write and produce high quality communication materials, and effectively communicate these across key audiences; while ensuring that they conform to AFH Pakistan standards and promote the image and objectives.

Be the focal person of AFH Pakistan for both internal and external communications.

Liaise with the marketing and communications departments at the head office in UK on the required information for fundraising campaigns and publications.

Regularly obtain briefing from the Programmes Department about the status of the projects and requirements of donors in terms of visibility.

Assist the Country Director in the development of AFH Global annual report and other publications.

Make regular field visits to ensure that visibility strategy is in compliance with the AFH UK requirements and institutional donors.

Ensure that all data, including photos, videos, and written case studies, are properly archived in the resource library.

Regularly update and maintain the resource library for easy access to visuals, success stories, and other communication material.

Collaborate with programme teams to gather and document impactful case studies, ensuring that they highlight AFH Pakistan’s work and the communities' transformation.

Conduct interviews with beneficiaries and write down success stories that can be used in publication materials.Preparation of Power Point Presentations and handouts of the current work done by AFH Pakistan that can also be used in meetings with donors and other key stakeholders.

Assist field teams by giving ideas on useful visual publication materials for beneficiaries.
Education
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree International Relations, Mass Communications, Media studies or relevant field.

3 to 5 years’ experience in the development sector of Pakistan.

Good understanding of humanitarian and development work.
Key Competencies

Proficient in Using MS office to support making publications.

Strong research skills to gather information, statistics, and data to support communication materials and strategies.

Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, or other graphic design software.

Knowledge of creating visually appealing graphics, infographics, and layouts for both digital and print media.

Proficiency in managing digital platforms, including websites, social media channels, and content management systems.

Understanding of social media best practices and ability to develop engaging content for various social media platforms.

Basic knowledge of analytics tools to measure and optimize digital communication efforts.

Photography and basic knowledge of handling DSLR Camera would be a plus.
