The Partnerships for Change project in Swat District aims to promote social cohesion, empower youth, and create sustainable peace and stability through social entrepreneurship

Objectives of the Consultancy

The Consultant Psychologist will be responsible for conducting psychological assessments, mental health session, and evaluations for project participants and the community to provide data-driven insights into project impact. The consultant will design and conduct psychometric evaluations, facilitate mental health, and document findings to aid in project research and reporting.

  • Design mental health sessions on topics such as stress management and effective communication, conflict resolution and peace building.

  • Conduct psychometric evaluations post-training
  • Compare pre- and post-evaluation results to assess psychological progress of trainees
  • Post-evaluation report analysing psychological progress and project impact on trainees.

  • Conduct comparative assessment of community resilience and psychological changes
  • Measure impact on community attitudes and behaviours.

Reporting and Collaboration:

  • Reports To: Project Manager
  • Collaboration: The Consultant Psychologist will work closely with the Project Lead, Project Manager, M&E Officer, and stakeholders.

Skills Requirements:

1. Proficient in administering and interpreting psychometric assessments, personality tests, and other psychological evaluation tools.

2. Strong ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data for tracking progress and impact assessment.

3. Ability to work effectively in culturally diverse settings, especially within conflict-affected communities.

4. Skilled in building trust and rapport with community members, with sensitivity to local customs and norms.

5. Competent in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.

6. Ability to conduct conflict management workshops and support peaceful community-police relations.

7. Skilled in data collection, entry, and management, with proficiency in data analysis software or tools.

8. Experience in generating detailed reports and summaries of psychological evaluations, project progress, and impact studies.

9. Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially for documenting participant profiles and providing clear feedback and report writing as per the deliverables.

10. Team-oriented, with the ability to work collaboratively with trainers, community mobilizers, and other project staff.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

Education: Master’s degree or Higher in Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Counselling.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years practical working experience or in a similar role with community projects, conflict-prone regions, or development programs.

• Fluency in English, Urdu (both written and spoken) and Pushto is essential.

• Willingness to travel and work in field settings within Swat District.

• Strong ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality

Terms of Payment:

The Consultant Psychologist will be compensated on a lump sum basis, with payments tied to the completion of specific deliverables. Payments will be made as follows:

  1. First Payment – Upon submission and approval of Deliverables 1 and 2 (Pre-evaluation of trainees and community): 30% of total contract value.
  2. Second Payment – Upon completion of Deliverable 3 (Mental Health Sessions): 30% of total contract value.
  3. Final Payment – Upon submission and approval of Deliverables 4 and 5 (post-evaluation of trainees and community): 40% of total contract value.
