Job Purpose:
The Solid Waste Management Officer will be responsible for monitoring project planning and implementation by the partner. The project officer will be the focal desk to coordinate NCA’s support to the implementing partner, and to follow up on monitoring finding and feedback. The project officer will be responsible for ensuring that implementing partner will adhere to requirements specified in the project’s Result Framework, proposal and work plan will be adhered to. The role includes ensuring timely reporting of issues to the Project Coordinator and facilitating resolution of the issues.
The job is Islamabad based, the incumbent will be expected to stationed at implementing partner’s office in Islamabad as and when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary liaison between the project and implementing partner while ensuring smooth collaboration and communication.
- Coordinate with the implementing partner on project’s work plan and result framework and technical support to the partner.
- As advised by the CES Coordinator/Head of Programmes or Country Office Management to participate in the meetings/events/forums etc.
- Support in coordination and planning of CO Managements, Head Office, or donor’s visits to the partner and project sites.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitoring project performance against work plans, agreed standards of the process quality, and results as provided and specified in the result framework.
- Conduct field visits to assess progress and provide technical support to implementing partner to improve all aspect of the project planning and delivery.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports, including performance assessments and recommendations for improvement.
- Review project’s data and record to provide feedback to the implementing partners to improve compliance to date quality standards.
- Ensuring Programme Management Information System (PIMS) grant and project module will be update to vis-à-vis data and information.
- Coordinate with NCA’s Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) and to ensure monitoring routines would be effectively implemented. Extending support learning initiative and project reviews.
- Capacity Building and Support
- Orientating implementing partner’s team on the project activities, approaches and monitoring requirements.
- Training/supporting project teams in execution of Result Framework.
- Training project team on reporting, documentation and community processes.
- Compliance, Documentation and Reporting
- Ensure all project activities comply with local regulations and organizational policies.
- Maintain accurate records of activities, agreements, and asset usage.
- Developing project’s progress report to be reviewed and finalized by the programme coordinator for CES Programme.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (16 years of education) in environmental science, Waste Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience of working with projects (directly/through partners) in environment, WASH, and/or 3R concepts.
- Experience in working with partner organizations and community-based groups is an advantage.
- Skills:
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Technical knowledge of Reduce, Recycle, Reuse (3R) concepts.
- Proficiency in report writing and data management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
