Job Title: Project Coordinator – Team Lead:

The position is for a potential project aimed at increasing the economic opportunities of family farmers in Gilgit - Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pakistan, with a special emphasis on women and youth, and is contingent upon project approval.

Job Summary:

The Project Coordinator will oversee the execution of the project, ensuring alignment with the project’s objectives and delivering outcomes efficiently. This role requires managing the project team, coordinating activities, and liaising with stakeholders to support the project's success.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring that objectives are met within budget and on schedule.
  • Coordinate and lead regular project meetings to review progress, address challenges, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage the project team to ensure effective performance and collaboration.
  • Provide guidance, support, and training to team members as needed.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the project team, partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with agricultural cooperatives, government departments, and other key partners.
  • Coordinate South-South exchange visits and ensure effective knowledge transfer between Gilgit - Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pakistan and Nepal.
  • Oversee the implementation of training programs, market setup, and value chain workshops.
  • Ensure that project activities align with technical requirements and best practices in climate-smart agriculture.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of project interventions and adjust strategies as necessary.
  • Prepare and submit regular project reports, including progress updates, financial summaries, and impact assessments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation and records.
  • Identify and address any issues or obstacles that may arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and implement solutions to overcome challenges and ensure project success.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Development Studies, Project Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, preferably in agriculture or rural development.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of cooperative management, value chains, and climate-smart farming practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
