Education and Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation.
  • Experience in data collection, reporting, and working with databases/MIS.
  • Previous experience working with NGOs or development projects is preferred.
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Assist in implementing the overall Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor programme activities and ensure compliance with the work plan.
  • Collect quantitative and qualitative data through surveys, interviews, and observations to track progress against programme indicators.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data collection following standard tools and methodologies provided by the Programme Support Unit (PSU).
  • Track the implementation of district-level activities, ensuring they align with objectives and timelines.
  • Provide regular updates on programme progress and flag any issues or deviations from the plan.
  • Compile, clean, and manage all district-level data and ensure its accuracy and integrity.
  • Work closely with the PO to analyze data trends and outcomes, and generate reports to inform decision-making.
  • Support the maintenance of the district-level database/MIS for data storage and retrieval.
  • Prepare and submit regular monitoring and evaluation reports to the PO at the Programme Support Unit.
  • Contribute to the development of district-level reports for internal and donor purposes by providing relevant M&E data.
  • Assist in documenting success stories, lessons learned, and best practices from district-level activities.
  • Coordinate closely with district-level programme teams to ensure the smooth flow of information and collaboration on monitoring activities.
  • Act as the point of contact for all M&E activities within the district and ensure effective communication with the Programme Support Unit.
  • Support the training and capacity building of field-level staff in monitoring, evaluation, and reporting processes.
  • Ensure all field staff are trained on M&E tools and data collection methodologies.
  • Monitor and report on any external factors or contextual shifts at the district level that could impact programme delivery.
  • Provide timely feedback and recommendations to the PO for adjustments in programme strategies.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written), with the ability to present data clearly.
  • Proficiency in data collection tools, such as KoboToolbox.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Knowledge of M&E methodologies and tools for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with database management and data entry software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in fieldwork and engaging with local communities.
  • Cultural sensitivity and understanding of the local context.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
