ROLE PURPOSE:
Under the general direction and guidance of Child Protection Advisor, the Child Protection Specialist will focus on developing, implementing, and monitoring child protection initiatives, including the creation of prevention frameworks, community-based child protection structures, and positive parenting packages. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, contextualizing frameworks, and providing capacity-building support to ensure the successful roll-out and sustainability of child protection programs.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Inform the Technical Working Group (TWG) about upcoming activities and developments.
- Adapt and tailor global prevention frameworks to fit the local context and needs of Pakistan.
- Facilitate consultations with stakeholders, including government bodies, NGOs, and community leaders, to gather input and refine the adapted prevention frameworks.
- Complete the development of the prevention framework, ensuring it meets all necessary standards and requirements.
- Organize and execute the launch event, promoting awareness and engagement.
- Create a detailed plan for implementing the adapted prevention framework.
- Refine and finalize the implementation plan based on feedback and practical considerations.
- Draft/revise Terms of Reference (ToRs) for community-based child protection committees or structures.
- Obtain approval for the ToRs and notify relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct orientation sessions to familiarize stakeholders with the ToRs and their roles.
- Design a comprehensive training package for community-based structures.
- Review and finalize the training package, securing endorsement from key stakeholders.
- Provide training and support to Civil Society Organization (CSO) staff on the new package.
- Provide ongoing mentoring and support to ensure effective implementation of the training.
- Adapt global tools and safe families’ resources to fit the local context and needs.
- Secure approval for the adapted training package.
- Conduct training sessions for CSO staff on the positive parenting package.
- Provide ongoing mentoring to support the effective roll-out and application of the training package.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Social Sciences.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in child protection, with a focus on program development and implementation.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and contextualizing child protection frameworks and training packages.
- Experience in capacity building and providing mentorship in a child protection context.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong representation and advocacy skills.
- Strong commitment to capacity building of CSOs staff and willingness to adopt participatory and consultative approaches.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate clearly and effectively at all levels, taking into account cultural and language difficulties.
- Strong results orientation, with the ability to challenge existing mindsets.
- Ability to present complex information in a succinct and compelling manner.
- Ability and willingness to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with humanitarian teams in the event of emergencies.
