Job Description: Capacity Building Specialist
Organization Unit: Program
Reports To: Senior Program Advisor/Team Lead BUILD
Primary function/purpose
The Capacity Building Specialist will be responsible for managing and implementing programmatic training and capacity-building initiatives. This role will primarily be responsible for assessing training needs, designing and implementing training programs, and providing ongoing support to enhance the capacities of implementing partner organizations.
Major duties and responsibilities
- Develop methodology and data collection tools for conducting comprehensive Training Needs Assessments (TNA).
- Conduct TNA exercises to identify capacity gaps among implementing partners.
- Develop training program designs and methodologies, outlining durations, topics, and expected learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with program teams and implementing partners to ensure training programs are tailored to their specific needs.
- Create comprehensive training materials, including agendas for each training module, PowerPoint presentations in both English and Urdu, relevant handouts, handbooks and resources for participants, trainer manuals and lesson plans, participants' handbooks, pre and post-tests for evaluating participant knowledge and feedback forms and tools for to monitor and report on the quality of trainings.
- Facilitate training sessions for implementing partners and stakeholders, ensuring effective delivery and engagement.
- Establish monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness of training initiatives.
- Analyze feedback from participants to continually improve training content and methodologies.
- Maintain comprehensive records of training sessions, materials developed, and participant feedback.
- Prepare regular reports on capacity-building activities, outcomes, and recommendations for future initiatives.
Position requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 6 years of work experience in relevant areas.
- Experience working with international NGOs preferred.
- Willing to travel as and when required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel required.
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills are required.
