Job Description:
Project Name and Scope. The USAID Tuberculosis Local Organization Network (TB-LON) Activity, Contract Number 72039124CA00001.
The purpose of the USAID Tuberculosis Local Organizations Network (TB-LON) Activity is to strengthen the Tuberculosis response through a demand driven, person-centered, and community-led approach in Sindh province. The principal aim of this activity is to strengthen the TB response through a demand driven, person-centered and community-led approach starting from 6 districts including Karachi East, Karachi Keamari, Karachi Central, Badin, Jamshoro and Matiari, and incrementally scale up this approach in a phased manner to 12 districts. USAID TB LON Activity aims at setting in motion a highly comprehensive, innovative model with community engagement and leadership throughout the cascade of care. The prime objectives of the USAID TB LON Activity are to find the missing people with TB, expand access to Tuberculosis Preventive Therapy (TPT), and improve Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (DRTB) treatment outcomes. Towards this end, the activity will be working on certain cross cutting areas to ensure an enabling environment with advocacy at all levels, development of community led accountability frameworks, use of digital platforms, while strengthening the health system, building capacity of various cadres, monitoring, evaluation and learning. The results from the interventions will be transformed into operational research studies to inform future policy directions and guide programmatic modalities.
Position Classification. Long-Term Staff (One-year initial contract, with potential for extension based on performance).
Estimated Duration of Assignment and Location. Long-term. Duration of TB-LON Activity contract, this position will be based in Hyderabad with travel to the project districts including Badin, Jamshoro and Matiari.
Reporting Responsibilities. Ultimate day to day field supervision and authority for all project personnel and all aspects of project activities rests with the Chief of Party or his/her designee. The individual holding this position shall take no managerial or technical direction from any individual who is not formally employed in the chain of command between the individual and the Chief of Party or the Chief of Party’s designee.
For all routine responsibilities and duties, either directly or indirectly related to this position description, the individual holding this position shall report directly to, and be supervised by, the Provincial Coordinator, or his/her designee.
Position Objective and Specific Tasks.
As directed by the Provincial Coordinator or his/her designee, the Mobile X-ray Unit Coordinator will:
- Conduct ACF Screening Activity with AI equipped Portable Xray.
- Manage Mobile team efficiently.
- Ensure the timely submission of reports.
- Ensure timely basic and refresher trainings of all X-ray technicians on the standardized guidelines for using portable X-ray machines and conducting outreach camps.
- Ensure timely hiring/re-hiring of Xray technicians.
- Ensure timely collection, review, and consolidation of monthly progress ACF Screening Activity with AI equipped Portable Xray in coordination with M& E team.
- Ensure the portable Xray machine is functional all the time.
- Ensure that Recording and Reporting tools are properly filled or entered into the mobile App with correct and complete information.
- Ensure that team is following safeguarding principles while conducting these Activities.
- A positive attitude, and the ability to thrive under pressure.
Educational Requirements and Qualifications.
The individual holding this position shall possess the following:
- At least Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant discipline, preferably a medical doctor.
- At least two years of relevant field management experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates having experience with health sector NGO
- Preference will be given to candidates worked for a USAID funded project.
- Preference will be given to candidates having experience in managing field team
- Strong analytical and computer skills such as MS Office
- Ability to conduct technical analysis and data visualizations.
- Strong knowledge for the use of gadgets and data entry
- Strong communication and writing skills and willingness to travel in the field.
- Capacity to work individually and within a team.
Authorized Workday/week
The work week shall conform to the work week in Pakistan which starts on Monday and concludes at the end of the day, Saturday.
