A National Level Non-Governmental Organization is seeking applications from interested candidates to fill the following position urgently

Academic Qualification

A Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Development Studies or a related field. Master’s degree will be considered a plus.

Experience in relevant field (No. of Years)

  - At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar position, preferably within enterprise development, livelihood projects, or grant management.
  - Proven experience in designing and implementing gender strategies and gender-sensitive programming in development projects.
  - Experience working with SMEs and understanding the specific challenges faced by women and marginalized groups in enterprise development.

Reporting Line:
The position holder will report directly to the Project Manager.

1.   Objective:
The Gender Specialist will be responsible for promoting gender equality and ensuring that the project’s activities are inclusive and sensitive to the needs of all genders. This role includes developing and implementing gender strategies, providing technical support to project teams, and ensuring that gender-related outcomes are effectively monitored and reported. The specialist will work closely with all stakeholders to promote gender-responsive approaches in enterprise and livelihood development.

2. Key Responsibilities/ Functions:

Gender Strategy Development and Implementation:
Develop and implement a gender strategy for the Enterprise Development Project that aligns with the project’s goals and objectives, Ensure that gender considerations are integrated into all project activities, from planning and design to implementation and evaluation.

Capacity Building and Training:
Provide training and capacity-building support to project staff, partners, and beneficiaries on gender equality and women’s empowerment, Develop gender-sensitive training materials and facilitate workshops to raise awareness about gender issues within the project.

Technical Support and Advisory:
Provide technical expertise and advice on gender issues to project teams and partners or beneficiaries, Support the design and implementation of gender-responsive interventions in enterprise development and livelihood programs.
Collaboration and Advocacy:
Work closely with project teams, government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to promote gender equality in enterprise development, Advocate for policies and practices that support women’s economic empowerment and gender equality at the local and national levels.
Grant Management:
Ensure that grant management processes are gender-sensitive and that women and other marginalized groups have equitable access to project resources, Monitor the impact of grants on gender equality and women’s economic empowerment, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
Develop and implement gender-sensitive indicators and tools to monitor the impact of the project on gender equality, Collect and analyze gender-disaggregated data to assess the project’s effectiveness in promoting gender equality, Prepare reports and presentations on gender-related outcomes and provide recommendations for improvement.

Skills:
Strong understanding of gender issues and gender mainstreaming in development projects. Excellent communication, facilitation, and training skills. Proficiency in gender analysis tools and frameworks. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and influence decision-making processes.

Language:
Fluency in English, Urdu along with having command on local language will be an advantage is required.
