The Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan is seeking a seasoned and Dynamic Registered Nurses for its Garden Al Zehra & Karimabad Facilities in Karachi Region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing skilled nursing care to patients as per organizational protocols and policies.
- Nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation of patients
- Administering medication via different routes.
- To provide home health services to elderly patients, as identified by project staff
- Undertake training as provided by project staff
- Demonstrate efficiency in use of electronic monitoring equipment
- To ensure updated medical records of patients visited.
- Able to follow and fill healthcare algorithms
- Perform comprehensive patient and environmental assessments related to home health needs
- Develop care plan in consultation with clinician and identify referral requirements
- To plan daily home visits of patients coordinate and implement care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum, utilizing nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation)
- To be responsible for the home visits and home visits for the data collection.
- Provide individual and family patient education, counselling.
- Is aware about palliative care and provide support to the patients to limit hospitalization
- Interpret diagnostic studies, such as imaging and laboratory studies.
- Recognize medication dosage, complications, contraindications, and interactions.
- Perform head to toe assessments as an RN and direct Nursing assistants for direct and supportive care
- Report any complications or issues to the physician
- Be familiar with signs and symptoms of infection and be comfortable dressing wounds and assessing long-term catheters.
- Collaborate closely with the physician, nursing assistants, and patient to ensure medications, lifestyle changes, and therapy services are suitable.
- Identify if the patient is facing any psychological or mental health issues
- To become familiar with community health services
Qualification & Experience:
- Minimum Diploma holder, Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BScN), post-RN BScN will be preferred
- 1-2 years of work experience will be preferred, trained or experienced in palliative care/geriatric nursing care
- Valid license from Pakistan Nursing Council
- Certification in Basic Life Support, Safe Medication Administration and Intravenous Cannulation, NG insertion, Foley’s catheterization
- Ability to assess, plan and manage patient care with expertise as per protocols
- Willingness to work with shifts
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including communication skills
- Basic Computer Skills/Microsoft Office
