Job Description:

Position Objective and Specific Tasks.

A USAID-funded projecthiring Field Officer in Umerkot. The Field Officer will work under the District Coordinator, implementing day-to-day interventions and coordinating and supporting the work of the TB Champion:

Key Responsibilities.

  • Develop a comprehensive plan of visiting at least 2 health facilities each day and visiting all health facilities in the district at least twice during the whole month.
  • Regular coordination with all health facilities in the district to gather data in approved format
  • Map the bacteriological positive cases to plan for household visits and communities in high-burden areas.
  • Regularly monitor and provide support to the TB champions so that they fully understand and execute their role in identification of new cases, initiation of an appropriate treatment regimen and treatment adherence.
  • Compile data from health facilities in the approved format and share with District Coordinator on daily basis.
  • Coordinate with the District TB Coordinator (DTC) and District TB Officer (DTO) on regular basis.
  • Coordinate with Institutional TB Focal Person and DOTS Facilitator.
  • Immediately report any unusual finding and/or incident happening in the field.
  • Coordinate with District TB Officer to ensure that all the data of TB BMU will be properly recorded and eligible household contacts have started TB Preventive Treatment (TPT) at the relevant TBMU.
  • Coordinate with DTO and TB In charge to ensure that TB-positive household contacts have started Anti Tuberculosis Treatment (ATT) at the relevant TBMU.
  • Ensure daily data collection, compilation and reporting to District Coordinator.
  • Assist District Coordinator in the compilation of district data for reporting to M&E Officer.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality of data and reports.
  • Provide other support as required by work.

Educational Requirements and Qualifications. 

The individual holding this position shall possess the following:

  • At least Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant discipline.
  • At least two years of relevant field working experience.
  • Preference will be given to candidates having experience with health sector NGO. 
  • Preference will be given to candidates worked for a USAID funded project.
  • Strong knowledge of field and result oriented approach.
  • Strong knowledge for the use of gadgets and data entry.
  • Ability to find solution and to solve problem.
  • Strong communication and writing skills and willingness to travel in the field.
  • Ability to achieve key project indicators.
  • Skills in organizing and record keeping.
  • Capacity to work individually and within a team.

Authorized Workday/week

The work week will start on Monday and conclude at the end of the day, Saturday.
