Know your Project
This project aims to leverage BISP for improving the nutrition situation of communities by improving the nutrition related norms, values, practices of local communities. The goal is to empower adolescent girls who are recipients of the Taleemi Wazaif Program of the BISP to become agents of change by enhancing their knowledge on adolescent nutrition. They will then transfer this knowledge to their families and peers. During the implementation, the project will engage various stakeholders including representatives from the Department of Education, Department of Health, Local BISP officials etc. The project also includes a component of Wheat Flour Fortification to complement the process of change opportunities of accessing the fortified food through local flour Chakkis, by making fortified flour chakkis available in the target areas and promoting the use of this flour
About you
You should have a Master’s Degree Medicine, Nutrition, Public health, Sociology/ International Development or other related field alongwith a minimum of 4 years’ experience in working with or within public health systems. You should also have a previous experience of working in adolescent nutrition programming. Knowledge of large scale food fortification programming is desirable.
Fluency in English & Urdu is required. And Knowledge of other regional languages like regional languages like Pashtu, Sindhi, Baluchi, etc is an advantage.
About the role
The National Project Coordinator will support the NPM to manage, monitor and report project planning and implementation. The broad function of this position is to support the project team including National Project Manager and District Coordinators with timely and effective implementation of the project deliverables The NPC will work closely with the Government departments at national, provincial and district levels and other key stakeholders to ensure Government engagement and leadership. In this role you will be responsible to:
- Develop Linkages/coordination at the national and provincial levels between stakeholders of the Department of Health and education BISP, GIZ and relevant NGO partners for improved program performance.
- Maintain constant effective communication with key stakeholders at national and provincial level for timely sharing of project related information highlighting gaps and challenges.
- Planning in coordination with the NPM and project team, ensure the implementation of the project Work plan activities, including M&E activities, meetings including reviews, field visits plan to project area.
- Identify the training need assessments of project staff, government representatives from health and education departments to organize training sessions in close coordination and collaboration with project team and the district authorities.
- Facilitate and ensure smooth and effective maintenance of supply chain mechanism for uninterrupted supply and distribution on regular basis to the project sites of WIFA tablets and Training instruments including communication material
- Support and supervise the district field staff in collecting monthly data at project sites, ensure data collected are reliable, the project database is filled, initial analysis undertaken and timely shared with the National Project Manager.
- Conduct ongoing monitoring of the project against objectives outlined in the project using methods and tools developed/ shared by NI
