A National NGO is looking for dynamic & Professional candidate for the position of Community Engagement Lead / Advisor. Candidates with possession of following essentials are highly encouraged to apply.
Required Qualification / Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Anthropology, or a related field. Master’s degree is an advantage.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in community engagement or development work within humanitarian or development contexts.
- Proven experience in working with both host and refugee communities, preferably in KP or similar contexts.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder coordination, capacity building, and conflict resolution.
- Experience in conducting community needs assessments and developing community engagement strategies.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent facilitation and training skills.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and reporting.
- Proficiency in using monitoring and evaluation tools and techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Languages:
- Fluency in English and Pashtu (written and spoken) is required.
- Proficiency in other languages (e.g., Dari, Farsi) is an advantage.
Job Description:
Community Needs Assessment and Planning:
- Conduct comprehensive community needs assessments to identify the requirements and priorities of both host and refugee communities.
- Develop and implement community engagement strategies and plans to support project objectives.
- Facilitate community consultations to gather input and feedback on project activities.
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with community leaders, local organizations, government authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders, including SAFRON, CCAR, CAR, and local municipal authorities, to ensure community needs are addressed.
- Ensure regular communication and information sharing with all stakeholders
Community Mobilization and Participation:
- Promote community participation in project planning, implementation, and evaluation processes.
- Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and forums to encourage active involvement and ownership of project activities.
- Implement community-driven initiatives to strengthen social cohesion and resilience within and between host and refugee communities.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor the progress and quality of community engagement interventions.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on community engagement activities, progress, challenges, and lessons learned.
Capacity Building:
- Identify capacity building needs of community members and local organizations.
- Design and deliver training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of community members and local stakeholders in areas such as leadership, conflict resolution, and project management.
- Support the development of community-based structures and committees to sustain project outcomes.
Complaint and Feedback Mechanism:
- Establish and manage a complaint and feedback mechanism to address community concerns and grievances related to project activities.
- Ensure that feedback from the community is documented, analyzed, and used to inform project adjustments and improvements.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with approved policies, procedures, and standards in all community engagement activities.
- Identify and manage risks related to community engagement, including social, cultural, and security risks.
- Ensure that all community engagement activities promote inclusivity, gender equality, and environmental sustainability.
