Job Purpose:

To support the MoHR Helpline 1099 by analyzing data on human rights violations reported by victims, particularly focusing on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and other vulnerable groups. This analysis will inform strategic decision-making, program development, and advocacy efforts to promote and protect human rights in Pakistan.

Qualification, Experience & Skills:

  • Master's preferable a PhD degree in Social Sciences, Gender or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in data analysis and research, preferably in human rights context.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Urdu.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong understanding of human rights principles and issues in Pakistan.
  • Experience working with sensitive data is a strong asset.

Job Description:

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Data Collection and Management:
    • Collaborate with Helpline 1099 staff to ensure consistent data collection on reported human rights violations.
    • Develop and implement data quality control procedures to maintain data accuracy and integrity.
    • Clean, organize, and prepare helpline data for analysis.
  • Data Analysis:
    • Conduct in-depth analysis of helpline data to identify trends, patterns, and key demographics related to human rights violations, with a specific focus on GBV and vulnerable groups.
    • Utilize appropriate statistical software and techniques to analyze data (e.g., SPSS, R).
    • Develop reports, presentations, and visualizations to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Research and Reporting:
    • Conduct research on best practices in data analysis for human rights reporting.
    • Prepare reports on the nature and scope of human rights violations reported to the helpline.
    • Contribute to the development of research studies and reports related to human rights issues in Pakistan.
  • Advocacy and Capacity Building:
    • Work with Helpline staff to translate data analysis findings into actionable recommendations for policy and program development.
    • Support advocacy efforts to raise awareness of human rights violations and promote effective interventions.
    • Contribute to capacity building initiatives for Helpline staff on data collection and analysis methods.
