ROLE PURPOSE:
The Child Protection Officer is primarily responsible to support Project Manager in the successful implementation UNICEF funded child protection and nutrition focused project. The project officer will support and facilitate the implementation of child protection focused outputs including coordination with government stakeholders at national and provincial levels; and training and oversight over CSO teams. S/He will support CSOs and frontline workers for ensuring high quality standards in the technicality and quality delivery of the CP interventions. S/He is expected to represent the organization at CP working group/s at provincial level, meetings with INGOs, UN and stakeholders.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Program Implementation
- Work closely with the Project Manager and CSOs to ensure the quality implementation of Child Protection activities in the field.
- Support Project Manager in facilitating consultations at national and provincial levels for development/contextualization of prevention framework.
- Support CSOs in development of ToRs and notification of community based child protection structure.
- Support in contextualization and approval of positive parenting packages
- Support and facilitate training of CSOs staff on PSEA, risk mitigation, positive parenting package, with focus on resilience and safety specifically for women and girls.
- Support project manager in planning, organizing and implementation of advocacy seminar and workshops in coordination with ACCM team.
- Jointly with Project Manager, implement capacity-building plan for CSO staff and relevant stakeholders and facilitate/co-facilitate the trainings as required.
- Support CSOs in establishing and oversee the referral mechanism (Identification, registration, referral and case closure) for an effective support to the survivors/children at risk.
- Support setup and monitor child protection help desks to identify, support and refer children with protection concerns.
- Keep close coordination with relevant stakeholders (Govt. line departments, district and provincial administration, clusters, and others at the district and provincial level)
- Contribute to the documentation and communication of learning within the organization and seek, where possible, to share that learning with key stakeholders.
- Support in compiling narrative and financial reports and to assist in the collection, analysis and dissemination of research and other relevant data for Project Manager to prepare periodic reports for donors.
- Coordinate with PQEI, ACCM, supply chain, and other department to ensure timely delivery of project activities.
- Adhere to safeguarding policy and report where necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in social sciences, Gender Studies, Social Work, Developmental Studies, or related discipline.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in child protection, inclusion of child with disabilities, referral mechanism, child labour and child marriages related projects in Pakistan both in humanitarian and development context.
- Experience of engaging with government stakeholders at national and provincial levels.
- Experience in organizing national and provincial level advocacy seminars and workshop on child protection.
- Experience in program coordination and community participatory methods for community development and mobilization.
- Experience of establishing and managing a referral mechanism at district level for CP Issues including harmful traditional practices.
- Ability to represent organization at different forums and highlight the program highlights.
- Ability and willingness to be flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure contexts, including flexibility to work with incoming emergency response teams.
- Ability to coordinate with govt. departments and represent SCI.
- Proficiency in relevant data collection and analysis.
- Willingness to travel to field sites.
- Proficient in speaking and written English and Urdu.
