U.S. Mission Pakistan is seeking applications from qualified individuals for the “Administrative Clerk (IT Clerk)” position in U.S. Embassy, Islamabad.

Basic Function of the Position – The Information Systems Center (ISC) oversees the management of a significant inventory of Information Technology (IT) equipment and licensed software across various installations at the post. Reporting to the Computer Management Specialist, the incumbent is tasked with overseeing the accountable unclassified Information System Center (ISC) IT equipment inventory through the Integrated Logistics Management System (ILMS). This role entails the meticulous management and tracking of Embassy OpenNet and Non-Enterprise Network (NEN) IT equipment and licensed software. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining optimal IT inventory levels and initiating purchase orders as necessary for Embassy Islamabad's OpenNet and NEN requirements. Additionally, collaborates with the General Services Office (GSO) throughout the equipment lifecycle, from procurement to receipt, inventory control, retirement, and final disposition. The non-technical responsibilities of this position are crucial for the efficient operation of the ISC and are essential for property accountability. By assuming these duties, the job holder alleviates the ISC's technical staff, allowing them to focus on core responsibilities such as network administration, software development, and customer support.

Qualification Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Minimum three (3) years of administrative/clerical experience is required, out of which one year experience should be in inventory management or a related field. This could include roles such as basic system administration, inventory assistant, warehouse associate, stock clerk, or similar positions where incumbent has gained experience with inventory control procedures.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

Must have a strong command of data entry, which is essential for ensuring precise inventory documentation. Basic computer proficiency is indispensable, including adeptness with spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel and familiarity with inventory management tools. Additionally, understanding office culture and possessing knowledge of office management practices are beneficial. Previous experience with both manual and automated inventory procedures for various IT equipment further strengthens qualifications. Skills and abilities may be tested.
