Organizational Context:

The Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) is a community of alumni from U.S. exchange programs dedicated to making a positive impact in Pakistan and around the world. Members of the network engage in community service, provide mentorship, and inspire future exchange participants. This network is jointly administered by the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad and the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP).

 Job Purpose:

 The position is responsible for the development and modification of PUAN Alumni Database.

 Reports to:

 The position reports to the Director Alumni Affairs.

Key Responsibilites:

• Responsible for the development of major and minor Web applications and components for internal and external Information System.
• Create web applications and components from the requirements stage, through design, through production deployment.
• Work in ColdFusion programming, MS SQL Databases, graphics as well as development involving compatibility and seamless integration with various technologies.
• Coordinate with Government agencies and NGOs to manage intake of information about program participants in accordance with benchmarks provided by the U.S. Embassy Islamabad.
• Ensure accurate and timely entry of data into the database through coordination with institutions that manage exchange programs.
• Re-verification of entered data as per the plan of activities.
• Ensure proper filing of data and it’s backup on daily basis at the end of day.
• Ensure correcting mistakes before any entry in the database
• Accomplish department and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
• Perform different tasks assigned by the Executive Director, Alumni Program Director, Public Affairs Section and Alumni Program Officers.

Required experience and skills:

• Minimum of 1 year of web application design and development experience

• Must have an in-depth knowledge of database development (MS SQL Server) and web-application.
• Practical experience in development of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SQL, databases
• Front-end and some back-end development experience. More important is the experience of seamless integration of front- to back-end functionality.

Required education:

Bachelor’s in computer science \ software engineering or related field. Master degree in relevant field is preferred.
