JSI has been operating in Pakistan for 25 years. In Pakistan, JSI is implementing the Integrated Health Systems Strengthening and Service Delivery Activity (IHSS-SD) funded by USG. The project works extensively with national and provincial governments, NGOs, and the private sector to expand access to health services. IHSS-SD Activity is committed to improving technical and institutional capacity through technical assistance and training, strategic information management, health systems strengthening, and policy development. The IHSS-SD Activity will improve the health of underserved populations in Sindh usinginnovative approaches in Global Health Security (GHS), Tuberculosis (TB), and Health Systems Strengthening (HSS).

The Manager Safety & Security will be responsible for the safety and security of projects in Pakistan. S/he will report to the Director Finance and Operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary security point of contact and coordinate closely with the mission, INGO liaison security officer, and home office as appropriate on security related issues;

  • Conduct site security assessment and ensure that infrastructure and security systems are active, and operational;

  • Acts as the head of Emergency Calling Tree in case of any emergency situation and serves as the focal point in case of Emergency Evacuation;

  • Responsible for ensuring that the JSI Safety & Security Manual (SSM) is adhered to and up-to-date;

  • Serves as the Safety and Security Focal Person (SSFP) and perform duties as outlined in the Pakistan Safety and Security Manual

  • Ensures that all staff are provided with an orientation on general safety and security

  • Conduct trainings for staff including personal security, road movement procedures, information security, first aid, etc.;

  • Prepare reports on security incidents affecting IHSS-SD staff, office and assets;

  • Provide routine security updates to Director Finance and Operations, COP/Country Director and IHSS-SD staff;

  • Oversee security guard deployment and management at JSI official locations in Pakistan;

  • Monitor ongoing vehicle and transport activities utilizing strict journey management procedures and the SOP

  • Provide logistics support in organizing events and update event tracker sheet.

  • Provide support in the procurement process related to events and security services

  • Provide support in the processing of payments related to security and events.

  • Perform any other task as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or specialized certification in safety and security.

  • 8 years’ experience overseeing safety and security programs, preferably with an

  • international NGO.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety & security protocols

  • Experience in diplomatic security, protection, and intelligence is an asset.

  • Willingness to travel as needed.
