Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and technically-minded Shredder Plant Operator to join our plastic recycling facility in Chak Shahzad, Islamabad. The successful candidate will be the primary point of contact for the physical operation and upkeep of our plastic shredding units. This role is critical in ensuring that raw plastic waste is efficiently converted into high-quality shredded material while maintaining precise documentation of all inventory movements.

Job Responsibilities:

Plant Operation & Performance:

• Execute daily startup and shutdown procedures for shredder plants according to safety protocols.
• Monitor the shredding process to ensure consistent flake size and quality.
• Adjust machine settings (speed, feed rate, etc.) based on the type of plastic being processed.
• Manage the feeding of raw materials into the shredder to prevent jams or overloading.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Perform routine preventative maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and blade inspections.
• Identify and report mechanical issues or unusual sounds immediately to prevent plant downtime.
• Conduct basic repairs and assist senior technicians in major maintenance tasks.
• Ensure the work area and machinery are kept clean and free of debris at all times.

Record Keeping & Inventory Management

• Maintain accurate logs of all incoming plastic waste (weight, source, and type).
• Document daily output totals of shredded plastic.
• Track machine runtime, electricity consumption (if required), and maintenance intervals.
• Ensure all paperwork is filed correctly for the management's review.

Safety & Compliance

• Strictly adhere to health and safety regulations, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Maintain a safe and organized workspace at the facility.
• Ensure all machine guards and emergency stops are functional.

Job Specifications:

Education:

• Matriculation (10th Grade) completed.          

Work Experience:

• Previous experience working in a recycling facility or operating industrial shredding machinery is highly preferred.
• Proven track record of handling mechanical equipment safely.

Skills & Competencies:

• Basic understanding of how machinery works and how to use hand tools.
• Ability to accurately weigh materials and record figures in a logbook.
• Strong work ethic and punctuality, especially for shifts at the Chak Shahzad location.
• Ability to spot contaminants in the plastic waste and notice minute changes in machine performance.
