Project: Access to Climate Security and Environmental Justice in Gwadar, Balochistan
Reporting To:
Project Manager
Project Duration: 7 Months

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead coordination and engagement with relevant district and provincial government departments.
  • Support citizen-centric governance, strengthened state–society linkages, and grievance redressal activities.
  • Coordinate government engagement for the Gwadar Environmental Protection Forum and facilitate follow-up on community environmental grievances.
  • Support formation and functioning of the Gwadar Informal Working Group, including coordination with government representatives and follow-up on agreed actions.
  • Facilitate government coordination for community awareness activities on grievance redressal mechanisms.
  • Conduct relevant desk reviews, consultations, KIIs, meetings, official correspondence, and follow-up with government stakeholders.
  • Support identification and documentation of governance and grievance redressal gaps and facilitate appropriate institutional referrals.
  • Contribute to the project monitoring and evaluation strategy, progress tracking, documentation, and reporting.
  • Maintain records of government engagement, actions agreed, referrals, responses, and institutional follow-up.
  • Support the Project Manager in ensuring timely delivery of project outputs and provide inputs to technical and progress reports.

 Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, Governance, Public Administration, Political Science, Sociology, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience working with government departments on citizen-centric governance, state–society linkages, grievance redressal, or related initiatives.
  • At least 4 years of the relevant experience must be in Balochistan.
  • Prior professional working experience in Balochistan, preferably Gwadar and/or Quetta.
  • Experience in government coordination, community governance, grievance redressal, climate/environmental issues, or human rights will be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of district and provincial government structures and stakeholder coordination.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, documentation, analytical, and report-writing skills.
  • Willingness and ability to undertake regular field travel in Gwadar and Quetta.
