Ophthalmic Technician

Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre (MALC) is seeking a qualified and motivated Ophthalmic Technician to join our Eye Department.

Job Description

• Assist the ophthalmologist/optometrist during patient examinations.
• Perform routine ophthalmic tests and assessments.
• Operate and maintain ophthalmic diagnostic equipment.
• Maintain accurate patient records and examination reports.
• Prepare patients for eye examinations and procedures.
• Ensure proper handling, cleanliness, and maintenance of ophthalmic instruments.
• Support the clinical team in providing quality eye care services.

Specific Requirements

• Diploma/Certificate in Ophthalmic Technology or equivalent qualification.
• Relevant experience in an ophthalmology/eye care setting will be preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a clinical team.
