The Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan (AKHS, P) is seeking an experienced Lady Health Visitor, reporting to the Project Coordinator.
Summary of the Role
The Lady Health Visitor plans, implements, monitors, and reports nutrition-related activities at Basic Health Centers (BHCs), community, and field levels. The position supports maternal, child, and adolescent nutrition interventions through growth monitoring, identification and management of nutrition-related cases, beneficiary follow-up, nutrition education, supplementation, and timely reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Plans and implements monthly nutrition-related activities at BHC, community, and field levels.
- Registers and conducts growth monitoring of children under five, pregnant and lactating women, adolescents, and CBAS beneficiaries in project villages and BHCs.
- Identifies and manages cases of stunting, growth faltering, Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM), Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM), and underweight mothers in accordance with established protocols.
- Conducts timely follow-up of identified beneficiaries and defaulter cases to ensure continuity of care and appropriate interventions.
- Provides nutrition supplements to eligible beneficiaries and educates mothers and caregivers on their appropriate use.
- Conducts nutrition awareness sessions, cooking demonstrations, and nutrition education sessions for mothers and caregivers.
- Collects, records, and updates are beneficial, growth monitoring, nutrition supply, and project-related data accurately and timely.
- Ensures timely data entry, reporting, and documentation in accordance with project requirements and MNCH best practices.
- Maintains accurate records of LNS, nutrition supplies, beneficiary follow-up, education sessions, and other project activities.
- Ensures proper calibration, functionality, and preventive maintenance of growth monitoring equipment.
- Coordinates with the regional team to ensure adherence to case management protocols and quality standards in service delivery and documentation.
- Supports regional operations and other project activities as required.
Eligibility Criteria
- Diploma in Lady Health Visitor or Midwifery from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC).
- Minimum 1 year of relevant professional experience. Fresh candidates with valid PNC registration may also apply.
- Prior experience in data collection, reporting, and the use of digital health/nutrition systems.
