Job Description:
Position Objective and Specific Tasks:
A new outreach/Mobile vaccination initiative is being launched to enhance Immunization and integrated service package accessibility in Urban and Peri urban, Rural and underserved communities. This project requires a dedicated Social Mobilizer responsible for supporting outreach/mobile unit in promoting awareness about immunization, and addressing community concerns and misconceptions to increase vaccine acceptance and uptake. The primary focus is on ensuring that the targeted population especially Zero dose and under immunized children are reached and vaccinated effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan & coordinate outreach/mobile vaccination and integrated service package delivery in targeted communities.
- Engage with local communities’/care givers at household level to raise awareness about the importance of immunization.
- Identify, social intelligence and address vaccine hesitancy/myths and refusals through effective planning of communication and dialogue strategies.
- Work closely with community leaders, influencers, and stakeholders to strengthen immunization efforts.
- Prepare and maintain social profile (Schools, Madaris, Clinics, MH, Hospitals, MMP) of assigned area/UC.
- Linking outreach/mobile session for supporting vaccination process in identified low immunity pockets/areas and supporting outreach placement.
- Social profiling of refusal households according to tribe, culture, cast and language.
- Collaborating and engaging local private/public health care providers/clinics for raising awareness among the community.
- Prepare weekly/monthly plan for community engagements based on low coverage, high ZD and High UI children’s pockets.
- Weekly submission of activities reports on standard format.
- Conduct regular field visits to assess community perceptions and vaccination coverage.
- Collect and report data on community engagement, refusals, and immunization progress.
- Identify and plan awareness sessions in areas where vaccine coverage is suboptimal
- Collaborate with healthcare workers and government health officials to enhance outreach strategies.
- Organize and participate in advocacy meetings, community sessions, and health awareness campaigns.
- Actively coordinate with UC/Local health authorities and participation in regular trainings.

Educational Requirements and Skills:
The ideal candidate for this role should have the following qualifications and attributes:
- Intermediate/Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, Community Development, or a related field.
- At least 1-3 years of relevant field working experience.
- Prior experience in social mobilization, community engagement, or public health initiatives is added advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse communities effectively.
- Ability to work in challenging field conditions and travel to remote areas as required.
- Local resident and fluency in local languages is an asset.
- Community engagement and mobilization skills.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Strong organizational and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
