Job Description:
Position Objective and Specific Tasks:
A new outreach/Mobile vaccination initiative is being launched to enhance Immunization and integrated service package accessibility in Urban and Peri Urban, Rural and underserved communities. This project requires a dedicated Vaccinator responsible for providing immunization services to Zero Dose, Under-Immunize children and vulnerable populations, through outreach/ mobile vaccination unit. This role includes administering vaccines, maintaining cold chain protocols, and accurately documenting immunization data on NEIR/MIS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer vaccines to eligible children and vulnerable groups according to immunization schedules.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of vaccines to maintain cold chain integrity.
- Ensure proper record keeping of vaccine stocks.
- Prepare Monthly advance tour plan for outreach/Mobile activities.
- Prepare robust micro plans and social profile of assigned area/UC as per standard format and updating on regular basis., inclusion of Mobile & Migrant population.
- Conduct outreach/mobile activities to less than 5% Pent 1 to Penta 3 Drop out and FIC up to 95%.
- 100% ZD coverage of identified/reported ZD during SIAs.
- Maintain accurate immunization records and report data on NEIR/MIS system on daily basis along with daily attendance.
- Maintain accurate record of due, defaulter and ZD children’s data.
- Post vaccination counselling & educate parents and caregivers on the benefits of vaccination and address any concerns.
- Inform parents on follow up visits with clear dates for revisits.
- Work and plan with the social mobilizer linking demand generation activities with outreach/mobile sessions in coordination with local/UC health authorities.
- Follow infection prevention and safety protocols during immunization activities.
- Report any adverse event AEFI as per guideline/protocol.
- Report and suspected Case of AFP/Measles/ NNT etc.
- Use of smart phone for digital reporting of immunization.
- Any additional task assigned by Project coordinator.
Educational Requirements and Skills:
The ideal candidate for this role should have the following qualifications and attributes:
- BS/Diploma or certification in Nursing, Vaccination, or a related healthcare field.
- At least 1 years of relevant field working experience.
- Previous experience in immunization programs/Polio or public health initiatives is preferred.
- Knowledge of vaccine administration techniques and cold chain management.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in challenging field conditions.
- Local resident of UC/ Area and fluency in local languages is an advantage.
