Job Summary
The Logistics Assistant will support procurement, logistics, fleet management, warehouse operations, inventory control, and asset management while ensuring compliance with organization and donor procurement policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support procurement activities in accordance with organization policies.
- Prepare Purchase Requests (PRs), Request for Quotations (RFQs), Purchase Orders (POs), and procurement documentation.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers.
- Maintain procurement files and documentation.
- Assist in receiving, storing, and issuing project supplies.
- Maintain warehouse and inventory records.
- Conduct periodic physical inventory counts.
- Maintain asset register and asset tagging.
- Coordinate transportation and vehicle movement.
- Monitor vehicle logbooks and fuel consumption.
- Assist in organizing deliveries to field locations.
- Support event and training logistics.
- Ensure compliance with donor procurement regulations.
- Perform any other logistics duties assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Public Administration, or a related field.
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of logistics or procurement experience.
- NGO/INGO experience preferred.
- Experience with donor-funded projects will be an added advantage.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of procurement procedures.
- Good warehouse and inventory management skills.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office, especially Excel).
- Good negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent documentation and filing skills.
