About SCF:

Sindh Community Foundation (SCF), established in 2001 and registered under the Societies Act in 2007, is a non-governmental organization based in Hyderabad, Sindh. It focuses on empowering marginalized communities—especially women, youth, and minorities—through initiatives in education, health, climate change, youth development, and social justice. SCF holds special consultative status with the UN ECOSOC and is PCP certified. With regional offices across Sindh, SCF has earned national and international recognition for advancing community resilience and rights-based development.

Job Purpose

The Youth Engagement Officer will lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of youth engagement activities under the SCF’s Youth Empowerment Program. The position will ensure meaningful participation of young people in project activities, promote youth leadership, strengthen community engagement, and support the achievement of project outcomes through inclusive, innovative, and participatory approaches.

Key Responsibilities

1. Youth Engagement and Mobilization

  • Develop and implement youth engagement strategies aligned with project objectives.
  • Mobilize and recruit young people from target communities.
  • Build and maintain youth networks and youth clubs.
  • Promote equal participation of women, persons with disabilities, and marginalized youth.
  • Organize youth forums, dialogues, campaigns, and community events.

2. Program Implementation

  • Coordinate implementation of youth-related project activities.
  • Facilitate workshops, training sessions, seminars, and awareness campaigns.
  • Support youth-led initiatives and community action projects.
  • Ensure activities are delivered according to approved work plans and budgets.
  • Maintain quality standards throughout program implementation.

3. Capacity Building

  • Design and facilitate training for youth on:
    • Leadership
    • Civic engagement
    • Communication skills
    • Employability
    • Entrepreneurship
    • Climate action
    • Digital literacy
    • Peace building
  • Mentor youth volunteers and youth ambassadors.

4. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop strong relationships with:
    • Government departments
    • Educational institutions
    • Civil society organizations
    • Community leaders
    • Youth organizations
    • Private sector partners
  • Coordinate meetings and partnership activities.
  • Represent the project in relevant forums and consultations.

5. Safeguarding and Inclusion

  • Ensure all activities comply with SCF safeguarding standards.
  • Promote diversity, equality, and inclusion.
  • Ensure safe participation of young people.
  • Identify safeguarding concerns and report them according to project procedures.

6. Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL)

  • Collect participant data and maintain project records.
  • Support baseline, endline, and assessment activities.
  • Monitor participation and project indicators.
  • Document success stories, lessons learned, and case studies.
  • Prepare activity reports and monthly progress reports.

7. Communication and Visibility

  • Support project communication campaigns.
  • Collect photographs, videos, testimonials, and success stories.
  • Promote project activities through approved communication channels.
  • Coordinate youth participation during national and international events.

8. Administrative Responsibilities

  • Coordinate logistics for events and trainings.
  • Prepare activity budgets and procurement requests.
  • Maintain project documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with SCF operational procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in: Social Sciences, Development Studies, Sociology or related discipline.
  • Master's degree will be an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3–4 years of experience in youth development, community engagement, education, or social development projects.
  • Experience working with donor-funded programs (British Council, FCDO, EU, UNICEF, UNDP, USAID, etc.) is highly desirable.
  • Experience facilitating training and workshops for young people.
  • Experience coordinating community engagement activities.
  • Experience working with local stakeholders and government departments.
