Are you a journalist reporting on climate change and environmental issues in rural Pakistan?

Under the Climate Journalism Network Pakistan (CJNP) initiative, Tribal News Network (TNN) is inviting applications from climate and environmental journalists for a five-day training programme on climate journalism and safety.

What Selected Participants Will Receive

✓  Five days of practical training on climate journalism and journalist safety

✓  Mentoring and guidance from an experienced journalist

✓  An opportunity to produce collaborative climate and environmental stories

✓  Support in developing stories based on issues affecting rural communities

✓  Publication of stories through TNN's partner local media outlets in rural areas

Following the training, participants will work together to produce climate and environmental stories under the supervision of a mentor. The stories will be published by local media outlets, helping bring the voices and environmental challenges of rural communities to a wider audience.

Programme Period

July 2026 – February 2027

Who Can Apply

Applicants must:

•      Have at least one year of professional journalism experience

•      Preferably be based in and reporting from rural areas

•      Have published at least three climate- or environment-related stories during the past 12 months

•      Provide a working link to each of the three published stories

Gender Commitment: Women journalists are strongly encouraged to apply. TNN is committed to ensuring that at least 40% of selected journalists are women.

Important: Applications that do not meet the eligibility criteria or do not include the required story links will not be considered.
