The Legal Aid Society (LAS) is a not for profit organization with a mission to connect vulnerable and disempowered end users of justice with effective and expedient services for the delivery of justice. LAS starts by listening to the voices of the vulnerable and disempowered within the legal system and combines their needs with the values of equity, fairness and inclusion to change the way we view and tackle present day challenges facing the attainment of justice in our society.

 

Details of the Vacancy

The primary responsibility for the resource person is to develop strong lines of communication and working relations with relevant stakeholders in Islamabad to achieve project objectives. He/She shall be responsible for providing support to engage and sustain LAS's relations and facilitate Policy & Advocacy work with counterparts in Islamabad.

 

Key Responsibilities include the following:

-          Strengthen and develop relationships with key actors in the criminal justice system

-          Coordinate with directly-impacted people to participate in and lead advocacy and legislative efforts

-          Develop and implement the advocacy plan for ICT and implement it.

-          Assist in building policy advocacy platforms

-          Coordination for Training , meetings and focus group discussions

-          Leading focus group discussions and interviews as and when needed

-          compiling and analysing data to  make reports from interviews, surveys and focus group discussions

-          Recording minutes of all meetings

-          Assisting with sending calendar invites, setting up virtual and in-person meetings, and developing shared agendas with key stakeholders of Criminal Justice System.

Education & Qualifications

Candidates should havea stronge ducational background in communications, marketing, policy, governance  and be educated to a Bachelor’s level in one of these disciplines with at least 3 years work experience.

Previous Advocacy experience in Islamabad is added advantage and preferred

Communication Skills

         -          Team player,

         -          Can work independently,

         -          Good Organizational Skills,

      -          Well-developed interpersonal/communication skills and strong organisational skills are essential.

Required Experience

 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
