Job Description:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The Supply Chain Specialist will be responsible for the following activities:

  1. Technical Support for sustainable strengthening of public health supply chain functions; FASP, procurement, warehousing, distribution, LMIS implementation and data analytics.
  2. Support the government for sustainable strengthening supply chain functions including health commodities procurement and implementation of USAID supported logistics and supply chain manuals.
  3. Support in the development and compilation of supply chain publications, reports, and research articles etc.
  4. Ensure implementation of an Integrated Supply Chain Management Information System and provide technical assistance in capacity building of the public and private sector relevant staff on real time reporting.
  5. Prepare regular reports on commodity security of health commodities including FP, MNCH, and products pertaining to infectious diseases.
  6. Support joint field monitoring activities for improving health logistics data reporting, data visibility and data quality.
  7. Validation of quality and integrity of data accumulated on the in-house integrated supply chain MIS.
  8. Capacity building of relevant stakeholders regarding health commodities logistics data analytics.
  9. Preparation of project weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports.
  10. Qualitative & Quantitative analysis of stock sufficiency & storage conditions of vaccines, contraceptives and essential MNCH products.
  11. Coordinate, facilitate and represent the project’s meetings, workshops, and workforce development initiatives as per requirements of the project workplan.
  12. Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

B.     Deliverables:

  1. Supply chain manuals/publications, success stories, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
  2. Commodity Security analysis and briefs.
  3. Research publications.

C.     Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. University degree with majors in Public Health, Pharmacology, Medicine, Supply Chain Management/Allied Health Sciences, or any relevant field.
  2. Minimum 5-10 years’ work experience in development sector in the fields of health commodities supply chain management, technical operations, health commodities logistics data management and data analytics.
  3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  4. Demonstrated initiative, versatility, and integrity.
  5. Fluency in English required.

D.        Period of Performance and LOE

The expected duration of the assignment is nine (09) months with a total LOE (Level of Effort) of 180 days. This is distributed as maximum of 20 working days per month.

E. Supervision

The consultant will report to the Country Director.
