ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
The Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP) is a nonprofit public service organization with a mandate to promote the volume and effectiveness of philanthropy for development in Pakistan.
REPORTING RESPONSIBILITES
The Senior Program Oficer – Research will directly report to the Head of Research Unit.
JOB DESCRIPTION (TORs)
The Tasks and Responsibilities of Senior Programme Officer (SPO) are described below who will report to the Executive Director (ED) through the Programme Manager-Research:
- Assist in developing a comprehensive research agenda for PCP in line with the guidance provided by PCP Research Committee
- Prepare research proposals and project implementation plans;
- Develop appropriate research methodology for a project/study, design data collection instruments, assist in collecting and supervising data collection, tabulating and analysing data, and writing research reports for in-house research activities.
- Provide input to identify research problems, develop terms of reference (ToRs) for outsourced research, assist the management in identifying suitable consultants (individuals or organisations) to outsource research or a component thereof, supervise outsourced research, and help in editing/ reviewing the reports submitted by consultants.
- Conduct literature review and collect information about programmes and developments in the philanthropy sector. This may involve examination of programmes conducted by other philanthropy institutions in South Asia, in particular and other parts of the world in general.
- Take initiatives to develop links and collaborations with other Centres of Philanthropy in the South Asia and other countries of the world to acquire information about their activities and how their programmes were funded
- Provide assistance in collecting materials, producing ideas and consulting stakeholders to identify specific needs of philanthropy promotion, and help in defining the broad contours of new philanthropy support programmes.
- Collect relevant information about various funding programmes of the corporate sector, international foundations, Pakistani diaspora organisations and international aid agencies and suggest ways to disseminate such information to other stakeholders;
- Assist in developing course outline on philanthropy and teaching on any topic of philanthropy at university level;
- Reviewing of relevant websites to identify funding opportunities for the Centre.
- Any other task assigned by the Management.

MINIMUM EDCUATION AND WORK EXPEREINCE
- Mphil/Phd from any reputed foreign/Local recognized university in the field of Social Sciences/Humanities or in Development Studies.
- Minimum 05- 10 years of experience in research and related activities required.
