JOB PURPOSE: The main purpose of this role is to teach in different communities using Mobile Learning Facility. He/she will ensure the timely routes of Mobile Learning facility in the target areas and implement all planned project activities.
QUALIFICATION
Minimum B.Ed. or above.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 1 year of working experience of teaching.
SKILLS and Attitude
- Sound understanding of Teaching methodologies, including story-telling, group activities and creative writing.
- Basic IT Skills (Use of computers, excel, word, PPT, etc.)
- Sound verbal communication skills; able to communicate with students, teachers and community members.
- Good writing skills; able to write field reports.
- Willingness to move around in different communities in Mobile Learning van and interact with communities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Regular visits in Mobile Learning van to formal schools/non-formal schools/OOSC communities for promoting education
- Provide an opportunity to both enrolled students and Out of School Children (OOSC) to learn using the material provided in the mobile learning facility.
- Extend teaching service to students and OOSC in the target communities at multiple levels
- Be creative with the provided material in the van in order to conduct activities. Story book reading using props, group works, kitchen gardening, etc. are few activities to be completed, the rest may include creative use of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use both in learning activities and in imaginative play.
- Prepare materials and activities for sessions.
- Sensitizing community to take ownership and steps for creating educational environment around them
- Identifying OOSC and taking initiative for enrolling in close consultations with supervisors
- Organizing data of activities conducted, OOSC identified and sessions conducted
- Carryout any other task assigned by the supervisor.
