Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to ensure that all human resources (HR) strategies & operations are carried out smoothly and effectively. Ensuring vision alignment between all organization stakeholders and building an intrinsically-motivated workforce that aligns with our organization’s core values is a key responsibility of this role. 

You will be responsible for developing HR strategies and providing sound advice to senior management on all related subjects. The goal is to ensure that all HR needs of the company are being met and are aligned with all business objectives. 

 The Ideal Candidate 

The ideal incumbent should have a full understanding of the way an organization operates to meet its objectives. He/she must have excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to have an ear to the ground for proactively understanding cultural nuances. 

 

A Typical Day at Work 

  • Developing corporate plans for a variety of HR matters such as compensation, benefits, health and safety etc. Focus on building a culture that suits the current & future strategic direction.

  • Acting to support the human factor in the company by devising strategies for performance evaluation, staffing, training and development etc.

  • Overseeing all HR initiatives, systems and tactics

  • Create and implement a full-fledged online nano-degree that trains employees before they join as well as have an evaluation system in place.

  • Serve as the point of contact for employment relations 

  • Monitor adherence to internal policies and legal standards

  • Establish what factors are key in bringing both young/passionate talent, and experienced professionals to Orenda.

  • Liaise with benefits companies -- such as health insurance providers to select the best plans for the organization.

  • Maintain regular communication with all line managers about their current, as well as future human resource needs. Maintain a constant look out to hire the right candidates for these positions. Remain proactive towards addressing the hiring needs by exploring & maintaining sourcing channels.

  • Design and lead team building activities. Source training programs and ensure that all new employees complete their training. 

  • Conduct evaluations of employees along with their line managers.

 

Education Qualifications 

Bachelor's Degree or higher, preferably in HR or Psychology

Experience 

Minimum 4 years of relevant experience. 


Knowledge & Skills

  • Good work ethic - ability to take on pressure. 

  • Planning & organizing skills 

  • Ability to take on multiple tasks/verticals and being able to divide time appropriately between these verticals. 

  • Excellent emotional intelligence and the ability to hold a safe space with others.

  • Excellent conversational and dispute resolution/mediation skills. 

  • Ability to work independently.
