Position Title                     :             Field Engineer                                  

Reporting to                       :               Secretary PRCS Punjab

Salary                                    :               Rs. 65,000/- per month

Duration                              :               From date of joining to August 31, 2021

Responsibilities


As Field Engineer you will be responsible for providing technical support in execution of all construction work such as Latrines construction, installation of Hand washing stations under Covid-19 response.
• Development of standardised methodology (technical documentation, implementation and knowledge transfer plans) for the construction activities.
• Development of the technical training contents and materials for the staff and volunteers to implement construction work.

  • Liaise with other external actors (local government, NGOs) on the field.
  • Prepare and administer program budgets and evaluate financial program effectiveness.
  •  Establish a sound logistics plan for procurement, execution of Construction work.
  •  Quality assurance of all construction Activities.
  • Coordination with PRCS NHQ and other stakeholders regarding the ongoing construction activities.
  • Checking & verification of Contractor bills of ongoing Construction projects, process payments of contractor and report back to NHQ.
  • Regular follow up on construction activities to ensure timely completion.
  • Conduct field monitoring visits for ongoing construction activities on behalf of PRCS and share outcome of the monitoring with FP Covid-19 and PRCS Management.  

Other key tasks include supporting in programme management encompassing narrative and financial monitoring and reporting, coordination, cooperation and networking with Movement partners, authorities, national technical entities, humanitarian actors and donors.

Experience and qualification

  •  Bachelor Degree (minimum 3 years’ experience) or DAE (minimum 5 years) in Civil Engineering or equal.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in same type of Projects.
  •  Proven expertise of construction projects in emergency and recovery operations preferably in the remote rural settings.
  •  Capacity to produce technical designs and structural drawings.

• Experience in project management involving community driven construction processes is considered a strong asset.
• Strong computer skills, knowledge of construction / architectural programmes is considered mandatory.
• Skills and command of mapping software is considered an asset.
• Flexibility to travel whenever required for work purpose and ability to cope with the basic living conditions are considered a requirement.
Skills

  • Self-supporting in computers (Windows, spreadsheets, word processing)
  • Proven fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Skills in conducting technical trainings for volunteers.
  • Strong team player.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines and with competing demands.

Languages

Excellent written and spoken English
