Title: Chauffeur
Duty Post: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – Peshawar
Summary of Position
The Chauffeur will be a full-time position based at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Peshawar office of JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI) for the Integrated Health Systems Strengthening & Service Delivery Activity (IHSS-SD Activity). IHSS-SD will work closely with the government of Pakistan across all levels to enable a greater ability to lead, design, manage, and monitor a system of high-quality, integrated health services. The program will also build the capacity of civil society and the private sector to work with government to support these efforts and fill gaps. Specifically, IHSS-SD will use an integrated approach to strengthen the health system and improve service delivery in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province.
This position requires a broad range of motor pool functions. The position holder will work closely and under the direct supervision of Admin/Logistics Officer. This position will be responsible for the transport services and vehicle repair & maintenance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To drive at a speed adjusted to the road, weather conditions within maximum allowable speed limit, with consideration for the safety of passengers, other road users, and the technical state of the vehicle.
- Pedestrian’s crossing points must be respected. Elderly and disabled must be respected.
- Avoid overtaking school bus and maintain slow speed near school zones/facilities with children in them.
- Use horn wherever necessary, allow speed especially where there are school children leaving schools, pedestrians, narrow streets, crossings, turning on blind corners etc..
- Maintain recommended distance from other vehicles.
- To wear seat belt and ensure that the passengers in the front seats also wear their seat belts at all times when the vehicle is in motion.
- To immediately notify superior as well as the local authorities in case of any accident in which he is involved.
- To keep his/her driving license valid and ready for inspection.
- To make sure all necessary vehicle documents (e.g. insurance, registration etc.) are present in the vehicle and are up-to-date.
- To ensure necessary travel permits (approved travel authorization form) and documents are available for each journey outside the municipal limits.
- To correctly fill in the vehicle logbook with details of each journey, fuel and other vehicle repair & maintenance.
- To keep track of scheduled vehicle maintenance, in order to make sure that the vehicle is maintained properly.
- To keep the vehicle assigned clean and road worthy and refuel when necessary.
- To ensure the safe parking, whenever possible in the office and during duties.
- Perform bank related duties, deposit utility bills and deliver mails.
- Any other task assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualification, Experience and Required Skills
- Minimum Matric level education.
- Minimum 03 years of work experience in the related field.
- Ability to interact with people and understand basic level of English language.
- Must be able to speak local language (Pashto)
