Program Overview

This is an upcoming project that intends to enhance detection and response to infectious disease threats globally by developing networks to implement prevention and containment strategies at local, national, and regional levels. Interventions to prevent, detect, and respond to infectious disease threats in healthcare, including antimicrobial resistance (AMR), healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), and COVID-19, will be developed and implemented within networks. Additionally, this aims to improve the detection of emerging AMR threats and identify AMR risk factors and prevention strategies across healthcare and the community to inform global AMR containment efforts.

 

Overview of the position

The Communications and Reporting officer will provide communications support to assist CDC Pakistan GHDR Personnel in formulating and disseminating quality information and data on antimicrobial resistance, and consumption and use of antimicrobials in the identified facilities. The responsibilities will include a range of tasks focused on creating, editing, and disseminating content. S/he will support the development of a communication strategy and tools to enhance knowledge dissemination and promote awareness on the issue of antimicrobial resistance in the human health, in close collaboration with the partners. Develop and produce communication and advocacy instruments and materials, including briefing materials, press releases, and articles and coordinate its dissemination through effective channels such as stakeholder meetings, print media and digital platforms. Utilize various creative and media assets to raise awareness and understanding of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) as a global issue and what individuals, communities and stakeholders can do to address the issue. Assist with the project communications, which include but are not limited to written, visual, verbal, digital and electronic communications. This will include content development, proofreading and copy-editing advertisement and promotional materials, ensuring scientific accuracy, relevant to the project activities and events for both the web and social media outlets.

 

Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills, Languages.):

  • Master’s degree in marketing, communications or media/journalism studies.
  • Demonstrated skills communicating in a credible and effective way with the ability to draft concise and informative documentation in English for a range of uses from detailed progress reports to media releases.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present complex material in a simple, understandable way
  • At least two to three years of communications, advocacy and/or media experience with an international organization or governmental multilateral delegation; demonstrable knowledge and skill with developing online and social media campaigns and thorough understanding of online media metrics
  • Knowledge of antimicrobial resistance for strategic advocacy and media/communications
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects and deliverables with firm deadlines
