Role & Responsibilities:

  • In coordination with health field team and technical team, design an evidence-based community health program, including scope of work, training and supervision structure, implementation plan and program monitoring and evaluation  
  • Design a community-based surveillance system for selected communities and develop relevant guidelines and tools 
  • Develop guidelines and tools for public health assessments of selected communities
  • In close collaboration with the Monitoring and Evaluation team,
  • analyze community and health facility data for morbidities, service utilization and care-seeking behavior trends to guide program design 
  • compare community and health facility data to monitor program effectiveness and adjust programming 
  • Support further epidemiological analysis of health information system data 
  • Ensure community health program is well integrated into IMC’s primary health care program 
  • Monitor challenges to access to PHCC and other services, and report them to the technical team 
  • Identifies barriers / constraints / risks and ensure risks & constraints are mitigated and report them to the technical team 
  • Analyze regularly the needs and humanitarian response and Donors’ strategies, and proposes new interventions according to needs identified in his/her field of operations
  • Provide regular reports to Medical and Health leadership team on the activities implemented, training, staff capacity building and technical support 
  • Ensure lessons learnt and success stories from the project are documented and reported.
  • provide sufficient and detailed information for program reporting to donors and IMC HQ.
  • Ensure high-quality of the community health component of the project implementation as, by training the Community Health team, Program team and provision of support on technical aspects in community’s activities
  • Build up the capacity of the key program staff by providing training sessions on community health activities
  • Development of the all-educational material, TOR, SOP and any support tool needed according to the strategy developed to ensure the high quality of community health program and soft components activities across projects.
  • Train and provide continuous mentoring and support to field teams in topics and skills essential to the delivery of the program, such as: public health assessments, community-based surveillance, data management, and health promotion 
  • Provides feedbacks to the M&E for the development of surveys needs to measure the impact of intervention. 
  • Monitor the technical aspects of the community health activities and ensure the quality and relevance of community health intervention.
  • Preventively identifies issues, gaps and delays that may impede the correct implementation of the projects and proposes mitigation plans.
  • Supports analysis of information from the field - identified lessons learnt and integrate them in the action plan for improvement 
  • Develop the community mobilization events or campaigns with health partners 

 

Coordination:

  • Strengthen coordination between health actors implementing community health projects by sharing accurate up to date information on the services provided.
  • Represent IMC during external bilateral and multilateral meetings and coordinate regularly with health actors, stakeholders and Partners.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Medical Doctor & Degree in Public Health, Community health is preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • Previous 3-5 year’s experience on the related subject will be an edge.

    • Demonstrated analytical, motivational, communication, project conceptualization and planning skill
    • Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations
    • Ability to relate to and motivate staff effectively
    • Excellent decision-making skills
    • Must work independently under difficult conditions
    • Strong writing and presentation skills
      • Fluency in spoken Regional Languages. Communication in National & International Language will be an edge.
