Purpose of consultancy:

The purpose of the consultancy is to train International Medical Corps staff on WHO Self-Help-Plus program (SH+).

Scope of work:

 

 

International Medical Corps seeks an experienced mental health professional to build the capacity of Intrnational Medical Corps staff on WHO SH+ Program. The consultancy is also supposed to provide ongoing job supervision and mentoring as well as group and individual supervision for 45 days.  The aim is to enhance the understanding of staff on SH+ program, and ensuring proper excuation of the learned skills and strategies in humanitarian settings and to equip them to implement the  SH+ program interventions in the current situation of floods and afterwards.

Duration and working schedule:

The consultant will be required to conduct 01 training of 3 days course and will also supervise 3 bi-weekly meetings of 2 hours. 

(Total 06 days which includes  03 training days and 03 supervision days)

The training courses needs to be completed in the month of February 2023. The training dates will be decided together with International Medical Corps team.

Place where services are to be delivered:

Hyderabad, Sindh.

Delivery dates and how work will be delivered (e.g. electronic, hard copy etc.):

The consultant will be responsible for the following deliverables:

  1. Development/adaption of training manual/Job aid
  2. Preparation of pre and post-test for the participants
  3. A detailed work plan and reccomneded actions to implement WHO SH+ program.
  4.  Comprehensive report of the assignement

Supervisory arrangements:

Programme Director and GBV Coordinator

 

Expected travel:

The consultant will have to go to Hyderabad, Sindh as per the agreed dates in consultation with the International Medical Corps team including the logistic arrangements.

Required expertise, qualifications and competencies, including language requirements:

At least 03 years’ experience in the field of Mental Health and Psychosocial support (MHPSS) work in emergencies/crises settings and strong knowledge of the Inter Agency Standing Committee (IASC) Guidelines on  Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergency Settings. Able to demonstrate experience of conducting SH+ program. Able to travel to Hyderabad to conduct the desired training.

Qualification: -

Psychiatrist/Psychologist (Master degree) with 3+ years’ experience working on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) programs, preferably in humanitarian settings.

Other relevant information or special conditions, if any:

1.Trainer has to critically analyse the logistics arrangements during the training session and formally inform International Medical Corps for future improvement, this includes but is not limited to venue, registration, accommodation and meals etc.

2.Trainer to share training modules/contents and requirement with logistics team for printing & arrangement in time.

3.Draft training report, get it reviewed from Program Director and finalize training report within 2 weeks after completion of training.
