Job Description :

  • Assist in budget preparation and management activities.
  • Develop financial policies to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Conduct periodic financial analysis to identify and resolve issues, gaps or variances.
  • Manage cash controls as well as maintain book keeping up-to-date.
  • Ensure maintenance of the general and subsidiary ledgers.
  • Track investments and maintain relevant cash reserves.
  • Ensure all expenses are within assigned project budget.
  • Oversee the preparation of all financial statements, invoices, proposals, etc as required.
  • Ensure account receivables and payables activities are performed accurately and timely.
  • Ensure that financial transactions are properly updated and recorded.
  • Manage the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, expense reports, etc.
  • Ensure data integrity in all financial reporting.
  • Update financial records with recent transactions and changes.
  • Perform finance analysis, reporting and management tasks.
  • Identify and resolve invoicing issues, accounting discrepancies and other financial related issues.
  • Review financial paperwork and procedures and make appropriate changes.
  • Accomplishes finance human resource strategies by determining accountabilities; communicating and enforcing values, policies, and procedures; implementing recruitment, selection, orientation, training, coaching, counseling, disciplinary, and communication programs; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation strategies.
  • Develops finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
  • Establishes finance operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; implementing change.
  • Taxation
  • Deduction/Collection and deposit of withholding taxes from Salaries u/s 149, Procurement of Goods/Services u/s 153, Commission u/s 233, Income from Property u/s 155 and other adjustable/Final taxes by creating PSIDs through Federal Board of Revenue e-portal.
  • Calculation and deposit of Advance tax u/s 147 applicable on Business Individuals, Association of Persons, and Companies in time and manner prescribed by Income Tax Ordinance 2001.
  • Filing of monthly statements of Income tax u/s 165 through withholding tax module of IRIS prescribed by Federal Board of Revenue.
  • Filing of Annual Income Tax Returns u/s 114, Statement of Final Tax for Salaried Individuals, Business Individuals
  • E-enrolments of Taxpayers.

Relevant Experience:

  • Must have a BS/ M.com/ ACCA or Master Degree in Business Administration preferably in finance or related fields.
  • Must have a minimum of 8 to 10 years’ experience in related fields with at least 5 years in NGO sector/donor-funded projects. Experience in managing, setting-up/closeout of project offices will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in taxation, withholding statements and annual returns submission
  • Be able to adapt and work in a diverse and complex work environment.
  • Must have the ability to analyze the situation, take timely decisions, and work independently.
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Must have moderate level knowledge of MS Office, QuickBooks and business applications/accounting software.
  • Must be an excellent team player with leadership traits.
  • Must be willing to travel to project sites in country from time to time for financial compliance of the donors

Location of the position: Peshawar

SHED requires the services of Finance Manager to be based at the head office in Peshawar. The position holder will be member of the core staff at head office and will report to Director Operations.
