CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

Level 3:  the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting the country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

ROLE PURPOSE:

As a member of the Award Management and Partnership Team, this position will be responsible for awards management and partnerships with different IP. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the standard role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

 

As a field focal person for Awards Management Unit and Partnership Department, contribute to:

  • Coordination on and compliance of assigned awards, sub award to partners and contractual requirements.
  • Follow an organisational culture that reflects our values, promotes accountability and high performance and free up our people to deliver outstanding results for children

Awards Management at Area Office

  • Support BH for operational planning & budgeting, that will help to contribute inputs for CO Master Budget /Forecast exercise
  • Assist BH for proposal budget inputs relevant to field program activities and related field operational cost
  • Support the BHs for tracking award expenditure based on BVAs circulated by Finance
  • Support to roll out and implement CO strategy to mitigate grant-related risk
  • Prepare monthly monitoring reports for Area Director, and hold monthly award review meetings at field level
  • Assist the budget holder to check budget availability and coding the transactions to ensure correct posting
  • Facilitate Sub Awards quarterly review visits in the field and support compiling compliance report as outcome of the review visit
  • Preparation of replying to queries from members and donors on awards related matters.
  • Filing of complete documentation of each award at field level
  • Assist in close out of awards in a timely manner
  • Take lead for conducting award kick-off meeting with field office and partner staff and rolling out of award related documents with relevant staff and ensure that they fulfil donor’s/legal requirements.
  • Support partners in building their capacity across functions based on assessment findings and partner’s capacity action plan.

As a member of the partnership assessment team, contributes to:

Partners Pre-Selection Assessment

  • Support the mapping process for selecting new partners, work closely with the program units to identify the selection criteria and make sure the selection process is transparent and compliant with SCI Procedures.

Partnership Management

  • Support Program Team in developing systems and policies that support the Partnership Strategy, including safer partnerships, and ensure periodic review and updating of policies once they are in place.
  • Support country office partnership team to undertake partnership health checks, feedback and other matters related to healthy partnerships
  • Support country office partnership team in partner closeout phase.

Partnership Development & Capacity Building

  • Support the development and implementation of the Save the Children Partnership Strategy, informed by Global Partnership Framework and the Pakistan context.
  • Support partnership unit at Country Office (CO) in developing systematic approaches to selecting partners and in identifying and pursuing strategic partnerships.

Collaboration with other departments:

  • Help establish, nurture and maintain strong partnership relations with the national government, civil society, private sectors, media and academic institutions.
  • As needed, represent Save the Children in external discussions on partnership strengthening in Pakistan, sharing our approaches and learning from others.
  • Liaise with other civil society networks on issues related to civil society strengthening and partnership.

Capacity Building:

  • Conduct BHs and partners grant management training and refreshers 
  • Visit sub-offices (IPS) and conduct training in grant compliance for all relevant staff in KP
  • Ensure the implementation of the capacity building plan and coordinate with the partners for timely completion of the plan. 

Audit

  • Facilitate audits as per HQ’s and donors ‘requirements in Sukkur
  • Implement auditor’s recommendations as soon as possible in the Sukkur programme
  • Assist Area Director, PM(s) and SMT in providing feedback for the auditor’s report.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • MBA or CA (Part and Fully Qualified), ACMA, ACCA  
  • At least 03 to 05 years  of relevant finance and grants and partnership management experience
  • Experience in developing user-friendly tools for budget monitoring
  • Willingness to work in emergency contexts and deployment on emergency programs as part of our commitment to the dual mandate.
  • A “Can do” and service-oriented attitude
  • Excellent management and communications skills
  • Ability to work independently to a high professional standard
  • Sensitive to the cultural & political environment
  • Fluent spoken & written English language
