USAID’s Pakistan Power Sector Improvement Activity (PSIA) is seeking Senior Front End Developer for its project office located in Lahore, Pakistan

The Pakistan Power Sector Improvement Activity (PSIA) is a four-year, $23.5M Activity aiming to increase the financial viability, reliability, and affordability of Pakistan’s power system. PSIA supports USAID’s focus on facilitating long-term solutions to energy issues through increased engagement with the private sector. This will be achieved by leveraging private investment and providing technical assistance to improve governance, implement necessary reforms, and promote fair and open competition in the market.

Working together with Pakistan-based subcontractors, PSIA will support Pakistani government efforts to transition to a competitive power market; improve energy transmission and distribution system operations; optimize the use of grid electricity and increase the share of renewable energy production and energy efficiency utilization in the country’s energy mix. Key considerations for the PSIA Activity include more fully engaging the private sector, coordinating with Pakistani and regionally based stakeholders, ensuring environmental compliance and climate risk management, and promoting gender equality.

We are looking for front end developer with responsibilities of creating and designing front-end web apps, making sure applications are responsive, and collaborating with designers on web design features.

Job Description

• Front-end web development, testing and deployment
• Designing user interactions on web pages.
• Build and deliver reusable and efficient front end components
• Work with UI/UX Designers to build excellent experiences for our customers and end users
• Ensuring cross-platform optimization for mobile phones.
• Ensuring responsiveness of applications.
• Working alongside designers for app and web design features.
• Participate in code review
• Email Template development
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

Qualification and Skills

• Bachelors in computer science, IT or related field
• 1-3 years of experience
• Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/Typescript.
• Strong concepts of object-oriented, functional, logic and imperative programming
• Experience of client-side technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery)
• Experience of frontend CSS Framework (Bootstrap/ Foundation)
• Proficient with responsive layouts and across-screen performance
• Intimate knowledge of browser compatibility and cross-site/cross-device support
• Proficient in basic SQL
• Experience on Version Control system (GIT/ SVN)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Good at time management as well as working & finding answers to questions independently
