Job Summary:

Under the guidance and supervision of the Senior Engineer, the Field Engineer will be responsible for the following deliverables;

• Formation of technical feasibility of sites to drive and assign the nature of technical work and assigning to vendor.
• Ensuring the technical support and monitoring of installation of emergency toilets, rehabilitation of water sources, and formation of water management structures.
• Training the beneficiaries on how to build back better shelter and sanitation facilities.
•  Water sampling at water points and the household level.
• Formation of the detailed bill of quantities according to the provided rates of services and material
• Daily based monitoring of construction work in the field and reporting to senior engineer
• Inspection of supplies and materials and ensuring that the quality and quantity of material are according to approved technical specifications
• Daily based recording of consumed material and services data and reporting to the senior engineer
• Monitoring and inspection of civil work and ensuring the engineering compliances in all respects
• Ensuring that the engaged labor in Cesvi work is respecting all the organizational and state laws and policies
• Planning the supplies and engineering work and assigning to vendors under the supervision of a senior engineer
• Provide inputs to the senior engineer for the preparation or revision of the design, BoQ, and work plans of civil works as required by the projects
• Report to and discuss with the senior engineer any technical issues which may have a direct impact on the general implementation of the project or of the organization’s activities in the area
• In general, daily report work progress, and technical issues to the senior engineer
• Supervise the construction works according to Cesvi policies and directions from the senior engineer
• Make sure that good, DRR-compliant, and sustainable construction techniques and quality standards are always applied to the construction works she/he is supervising
• Contribute to any other phases of the project like community mobilization, activities’ monitoring and assessment surveys, and data collection.
• Based on accurate knowledge of Cesvi mandate and country strategy, the field engineer will be requested during the implementation of the field activities and any other phase of the implementation of the project - to help the senior staff to find and propose potential areas and sectors for possible future interventions.
• Any other job-related tasks assigned by the senior engineer.

Qualifications:

a.       Education

DAE in Civil Engineering or any other relevant position of study.

Expertise in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene promotion.

b.       Experience:

Minimum of 03 years of relevant professional experience in a similar position in NGOs/INGOs/UN Agencies. Knowledge of surrounding areas and local context in WASH in an emergency is desired.

c.       Competencies:

Superior organizational skills and ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced fluid environment.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills to build the link with staff, partners, government officials, donors, and other relevant stakeholders.

Creative and flexible with problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated professionalism and diplomacy.

Ability to confidently represent oneself to high-level officials.

d.       Technical Skills:

Confident and proficient in using MS Office, proficiency in Sindhi and English (written and spoken) is mandatory.

08 Months, (extendable)

Salary Range                                                     

65,000 (Per month)                                                                       

These are Emergency Response Positions, so we will be hiring on a rolling basis and we may finalize the candidates before the given deadline.

Preference will be given to candidates, who can join immediately without notice periods.
