Research Associate

Required Qualifications

Master level degree in social sciences or related field

At least 3 to 5 years of proven and extensive experience in writing, and editing of technical/policy reports and publications, especially in the field of social development.

Ability to work quickly and willing to manage the delivery of materials under time pressure and short deadlines

Editing, proofreading and picture/graph editing skills, including keen attention to detail

Excellent computer literacy including the ability to make graphs and high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Job Description

Provide quality control to the project reporting process Editing, revising and rewriting as needed to produce high quality, timely, results-based progress and project end reports

Review the report’s narrative and financial components in the context of the cost-sharing project cycle

Prepare specific report-related feedback to programme divisions, throughout the report preparation process

Engage fully in established processes among progress reporting colleagues to improve quality control, workflow, and efficiency; and provide ongoing feedback and input on other such innovations and improvements

Participate actively in reporting training meetings, briefings, discussions as required

Contribute to capacity development efforts for new colleagues and editors, in collaboration with other team members

Undertake any other tasks as required that relate to maintaining good donor relations through the reporting cycle

Serve as back-up for team members upon request and as needed

Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
