Purpose

The staff health Officer is the focal point for all matters relating to the health of ICRC staff at the Peshawar office. In line with the ICRC staff health strategy, s/he promotes and maintains the physical and mental health of ICRC staff and their families.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Carries out individual or collective health briefings for all new staff.
  • Assesses and supervises the living conditions in the sub-delegation and promotes general hygiene standards.
  • Evaluate medical structures and quality of services provided; identifies and monitor services for referral and treatment of staff members and their families.
  • Provides advice and support to ICRC staff with health problems
  • Provides advice on the medical needs of ICRC staff during transportation and coordinates medical evacuations in close coordination with the health centre of expertise.
  • Implement the staff health strategy at the Peshawar level for all staff and their families through activities linked to prevention, health care and medical emergencies, stress management, and medical insurance.
  • Coordinates the implementation of the staff health strategy with our staff health officer based in Islamabad.
  • Implements and follows up on ICRC stress policy
  • Collects accurate and reliable data pertaining to illnesses, accidents, and absenteeism, with a view to providing statistics on illnesses and the medical risks taken by the ICRC staff members.
  • Executes office and administrative work, including the processing of medical invoices and approval of medical expenses independently.
  • Reports to the sub-delegation management and provides feedback and recommendations on issues related to staff health.

Main Requirements:

  • Medical degree (MBBS) or a registered nurse.
  • Three years (03) of clinical experience.
  • Experienced in mental health and stress management.
  • Excellent command (written and spoken) of Urdu, Pashto, and English.
  • Knowledge of tropical health and public health.
  • Fully conversant with IT tools, i.e., MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • ICRC experience would be an asset.
