Associates in Development Pvt. Ltd. (AiD) is a Pakistan-based development and management consulting company which provides high-quality consulting services in the core areas of 1) Social Sectors; 2) Engineering & Infrastructure; and 3) Environment and Climate Change.

AiD has received USAID’s award for the Economic Recovery and Development Activity (ERDA), which is a five years project designed to expand economic opportunities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including in Newly Merged Districts (NMDs). Interventions ERDA will promote sustainable economic growth by improving agriculture sector capacity and supporting allied MSEs in the non-agriculture sectors of KPK.

Qualification Requirements

  • A university degree in environmental studies or environmental economics, Natural Resource Management or relevant field is required
  • A minimum of five (05) years of experience of providing technical and implementation assistance for environmental safeguard management of development assistance programming
  • Demonstrated experience of designing project-specific environmental safeguard policies for soft and infrastructure interventions
  • Excellent understanding of GOP and GoKP’s policy and regulatory requirements for environment impact assessments and climate change adaptation
  • Excellent understanding of USAID’s environmental procedures, compliance and reporting requirements as per the 22 CFR 216
  • Past experience of preparing activity-/ intervention-specific EIA proposals
  • Strong computer skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English. Spoken Urdu and Pashto is desirable

Job description

This person will report to DCOP and will lead the preparation of Environmental Compliance Regulations and Procedures for the ERDA. Moreover, he/ she will perform environmental assessment of the grants and infrastructure activities and provide technical support in mitigating the potential impacts as per the USAID’s Environmental Compliance Regulations and Procedures and 22 CFR 216.
