OverView:

DIL is a non-profit organization registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 and working for education in Pakistan since 1997. Our vision and mission is to provide quality education to children in underprivileged areas of Pakistan to help them realize their full potential and enable them to contribute positively towards their communities. DIL is managing a network of schools in rural areas and urban slums across Pakistan with a presence in three provinces; Sindh, Punjab and KPK and the rural areas of the federal capital. DIL is also work in adopting of government school in Punjab for the improvement of education in collaboration with Punjab government.

 

Position/designation:  Project Manager.

Location of work: Lahore and Kala Shah Kaku

Scope of work under this TOR:

The Project Manager Lahore is responsible for overall running and supervision of all stages of the project management cycle in conjunction with the Program Director. He/she is also responsible for accomplishing the program objectives and outcomes within the contextual constraints. The project entails working with the Punjab Education Department for the improvement of education in the area of work.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Project Management:

  • To maintain the overall quality of all projects in assigned area and to ensure that all projects are in line with DIL standards and indicators.
  • Ensure communication and coordination between DIL and projects, including (but not limited to) all stake holders.
  • To conduct participatory and comprehensive reviews of targets on regular basis and to ensure progress and improvement of the Program.
  • To facilitate all the concerned program and partners staff in developing and maintaining school enhancement and quality improvement plans with measurable targets. 
  • To develop and plan for future annual and current subsidiary activities and interventions to ensure project growth and strengthening.
  • Oversee and facilitate successful implementation of yearly, quarterly and monthly Activity plans in the projects.
  • To identify weaknesses in the academic performance of the project schools and request timely technical assistance from the Training Team.
  • To maintain good coordination with education departments (Punjab Education Department).
  • To plan and budget new pilots or initiatives in discussion with Program Director and COO and manage successful implementation of pilots/new initiatives.
  • To prepare and submit annual project plans and budgets of the assigned projects on the assigned dates.
  • To recommend changes (if and where needed) in projects’ approved annual budget.
  • To Provide relevant input to top Management for review and formulation of Policies guidelines at program and Organization level.

 Monitoring and Information Management:

 To monitor and facilitate projects’ progress and performance for quality outcome.

  • To monitor project deliverables are in line with the project plan and budget and recommend changes as required in discussion with  DIL management
  • To monitor projects through participatory and transparent methods to identify and resolve weaknesses and build on their strengths in design, implementation and process
  • To monitor the resource and learning materials allocation to project schools, their timely distribution and appropriate use.
  • Ensure timely collection and processing of data as requested by Program Director.

 

Documentation and Reporting:

  • To maintain all project related records.
  • Review and submit quarterly narrative and budget reports for each project  on quarterly basis
  • Maintain projects’ photographs and archive
