ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP) is looking for two Field Coordinators for a two-year long project on advancing gender equality in two districts of Hunza and Diamer in GBC. The job will be based in GBC.

REPORTING RESPONSIBILITES

The Field Coordinator will directly report to the Project Manager.

BACKGROUND OF THE PROJECT

Under the project, PCP is to do a mapping and need assessment study of existing formal and less formal organizations in two districts of Hunza and Diamer in GBC. The data collected from both secondary and primary sources will generate evidence on how formal Civil Society Organizations are contributing and causing a change in women’s economic and social empowerment. Based on the gaps identified in the mapping study, a prime intervention of the project is to impart trainings on three crucial capacity strengthening activities as : (i) Peer-2-Peer learning exchange workshop, (ii) Leadership Development (with particular emphasis on women participation in social and economic activities), and (iii) Collaboration  with other organizations for progressive interventions to help and guide  women to improve their socio-economic status and leadership in the community. Once trainings are imparted, four follow up discussions on Community of Practice will be carried out.

JOB DESCRIPTION    (TORs)

  • Assist with the identification less formal Civil Society Organizations working in the target areas.
  • Coordinate the project activities of the mapping and research study on civil society organizations as advised and directed by the project manager to support the field team of enumerators
  • Make preparations for and supervising all data collection activities; and resolving any field related issues then and there.
  • Coordinate with AKRSP local teams for conducting mapping of CSOs in target loactions, if and when needed
  • Build liaison with government representatives, local stakeholders and other locally hired field staff to promote understanding of and support for the mapping and research study
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of all data collection activities, including: supervision of survey teams, preparation of field protocols and manuals. Assist with the training of field staff, pilot-tests of survey instruments, data quality assurance, and production of regular progress reports.
  • Facilitate the design and implementation of high frequency checks for all data collection activities
  • Manage all data acquisition activities and make formal data requests as needed (e.g. requests for administrative data, private sector data, survey permissions, etc).
  • Closely monitor the implementation of project activities to ensure that interventions are implemented as planned. Send weekly progress reports to the Project manager
  • Conduct data cleaning and data management as and when needed. Data cleaning tasks include ensuring that forms and filled in questionnaires are uniquely identified, data are internally consistent; conduct merging across data files to ensure clean merges.
  • Coordinate with local CSOs’ representative for participating in the trainings.
  • Support the dissemination workshops with government and other relevant stakeholder
  • Any other task assigned by Reporting Officer

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

MINIMUM EDCUATION AND WORK EXPEREINCE

  • Master’s degree in any social sciences subject, with  2 years plus work experience of filed coordination or as an enumerator, preferably in gender based projects
  • Preference will be given to candidate having prior experience of working on GBC based project
  •  GB based position with occasional travel to Islamabad
  • Proficiency in local languages would be an advantage
