Job Description:

  • Research – 50 %
    • Assist in the designing of data collection methodologies and qualitative/quantitative tools etc. in coordination with the research manager and/or consultant(s)
    • Draft research tools and concept notes pertaining to the research subject(s)
    • Conduct extensive secondary research i.e. desk/literature reviews
    • Assist in the dissemination and execution of primary research within the field
    • Supervise the data collection process in coordination with field teams
    • Conduct an analysis of collected data
    • Draft research reports/policy briefs/papers utilizing both primary and secondary data sources
  • Knowledge exchange (KE), Management and Impact – 30 %
    • Convert research into impact i.e. produce lay summaries of research work, identifying impact and KE opportunities, in collaboration with the Research/Delivery Associates
    • Assist the Research Manager in the knowledge management of deliverables, including dissemination across key stakeholders
    • Identify, and develop relationships with key stakeholders and establish strong coordination
    • Organize seminars, events and training sessions with relevant stakeholders/beneficiaries for dissemination of knowledge/impact
    • Assist in the drafting of donor reports i.e. monthly/quarterly progress reports
    • Arrange/conduct regular field visits to monitor project impact and deliverables
    • Assist the Project Manager/Research Manager in the supervision of all field activities i.e. community mappings, survey data collection etc.
    • Maintain consistent communication with project consultant(s) for relevant deliverables
  •  Strategic planning and development – 20%
    • Actively identify potential collaborations, partnerships with relevant stakeholders/organizations
    • Identify potential grant/funding opportunities
    • Assist in the grant development process and draft further research proposals
    • Provide cross-program support, as and when required

  • Bachelors in Social Sciences or any other relevant fields,
  • 1 - 2 years of demonstrated experience in development sector
  • Required advanced level of English, reading, writing for drafting skills.
  • Creative, energetic, ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, motivation, and maturity
