Job Summary

 The Trainer – Food Technology (Preservation & Processing – Conventional) is responsible for delivering competency-based training on food preservation, processing techniques, food safety, hygiene, and handling practices. The trainer ensures trainees gain practical skills and knowledge required to work in food production units, processing plants, and small-scale preservation businesses, in line with approved curriculum and standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver theoretical and practical sessions as per approved curriculum and Training Implementation Manual (TIM).
• Train trainees on conventional preservation methods such as dehydration, pickling, jam/jelly making, fermentation, canning, and safe food handling.
• Demonstrate proper use of tools, equipment, and processing techniques in a food lab environment.
• Ensure implementation of Competency-Based Training (CBT) modules and adherence to learning outcomes.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, and session-wise lesson plans using approved templates.
• Develop and update training materials, SOPs, practical demonstrations, and job sheets.
• Organize raw materials, equipment, and lab supplies before training sessions.
• Conduct pre, monthly and post-assessments following organization's assessment guidelines.
• Maintain trainee portfolios, competency checklists, and assessment records.
• Provide constructive feedback, identify slow learners, and offer remedial support.
• Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and safety of the training lab in compliance with food safety standards.
• Monitor and maintain equipment, tools, and supplies for training activities.
• Ensure proper waste disposal and adherence to safe processing practices.
•  Maintain attendance sheets, daily training logs, lesson plans, and trainee evaluation records.
• Prepare and submit monthly training reports and documentation required by the donor and management.
• Facilitate monitoring visits by the donor, project staff, and audit teams.
• Support exposure visits, guest sessions, and linkages with food processing units.
• Guide trainees about employment opportunities and basic entrepreneurship in food preservation.
• Any other task assigned by the management.

 Qualification Requirements

• Minimum 14 years of education in Food Technology, Food Science, Agriculture, or related field.
• Preference for certified training in Food Preservation, Food Processing, or Food Safety.
• At least one year of relevant industry or training experience.
• Strong communication skills in Urdu and English.

 Technical Competencies

• Knowledge of conventional preservation and processing techniques.
• Understanding food safety, quality control, hygiene, and HACCP principles.
• Ability to operate processing equipment (dehydrators, canning tools, mixers, etc.).
• Capability to deliver hands-on training and demonstrations effectively.
