Role Summary:

The Sub Engineer will be responsible for, planning, implementation and quality control for Construction activities according to BOQs, estimates and drawings. He/she will also lead technical assessments to oversee subsequent construction activities and ensure work quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to Vendor/contractor/firm in the implementation process where required.
  • Support and coordinate with the contractor and line manager for the monitoring of on-going work at the targeted sites.
  • Provide oversight and supervision to monitor the quality and standard of the construction work at assigned sites.
  • To conduct market survey for proposed work materials availability, unit rates of material/labor and formulate realistic estimates of the proposed activities of Project.
  • Coordination with supervisor for daily, weekly, biweekly and monthly reporting.
  • Ensure that the Country office is kept regularly informed of all matters relevant to the efficient and effective management of engineering /construction work, including the preparation of regular reporting and the production of work plans.
  • Finalizing and signing of work completion certificates from contractors and relevant departments.
  • Technical support to field and country office teams for all relevant documents (with photographs and written reports) about project/construction activities.
  • Timely report to the supervisor regarding any issue relevant to project activities at the earliest stage with recommendations.
  • Ensure establishment and maintain relationships with the project stakeholder’s implementation of project activities.
  • Frequently, daily visits to the targeted project area/site.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.
  • Regular Progress reporting weekly-biweekly and monthly.
  • Supervise construction work at the site independently, ensuring pre and post pictures of project activities and project run smoothly, within budget, and on time without compromising quality

  • Works Directly With:  Project Coordinator, Finance, Logistics

Qualification and Experience:

  • Diploma of Associate Engineering/ in Civil Engineering.
  • At least 3-5 years’ relevant technical planning, implementation and quality control for construction activities experience, preferably in the NGO sector.
  • Practical knowledge of Development of BOQ’s Estimates, Drawings and supervision of construction work, preparation/validation of contractors /vendor invoices, good command on Auto-Cad will be asset.
  • Good command of MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and relocate anywhere in Pakistan.
  • Excellent time management skills and knowledge of financial matters and procurement procedures will be an asset. Must be a team player.
  • Track record of maintaining liaison with governmental and non-governmental partners.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Fluency in local languages will be an asset\Working independently and cooperatively and a problem solver.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and experience of Microsoft Office applications.
