JOB PURPOSE:

The Job Placement Officer will be responsible for building and maintaining linkages with employers and industries to identify job and internship opportunities. The role involves connecting trained youth with respective industries or employers, conducting employability skills workshops, and performing labor demand surveys in the hospitality and tourism sectors to uncover new opportunities. Additionally, the Job Placement Officer will assist in providing job opportunities and internships for beneficiaries in the hospitality and tourism sectors, enhancing their employability and promoting career development.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

Maintaining Data base and tracking of trainees:

  • Maintain and update the database of trainees in organization MIS on a monthly basis.
  • Track trainee progress and update their information in Organization MIS.
  • Develop a CV bank of trainees according to trades and share it with potential employers.
  • Maintain an accessible database of CVs for all registered trainees and walk-in clients.
  • Compile socio-demographic and placement information of certified trainees.
  • Maintain a database of employers and institutions to facilitate trainee placements.
  • Conduct market surveys and update Organization MIS accordingly.

Job Searching and Placement of Trainees (Employment and Self Employment like Entrepreneurship/Internships):

  • Facilitate paid internships and job opportunities for beneficiaries to enhance their practical experience and employability.
  • Search for job opportunities online, offline, and through personal visits to organizations.
  • Share job notifications with Organization trainees via SMS, phone calls, and social media.
  • Regularly visit employers to introduce Organization and establish connections for trainee placements.
  • Link trainees to local and international job markets through online platforms and recruitment companies.
  • Assist trainees in developing online profiles and completing online assessment forms and tests.
  • Support trainees in starting and managing small businesses and entrepreneurial ventures.

Training & Development:

  • Organize employability skills workshops for all registered trainees of Organization.
  • Conduct mock interviews to prepare trainees for job applications.
  • Hold sessions and workshops on resume writing, creative job-hunting skills, and work readiness skills.
  • Assess trainees based on their competencies and refer them to potential employers for suitable job placements.

Career counselling:

  • Provide counselling sessions to registered trainees about JPC services and their benefits.
  • Advise trainees on work readiness, the importance of hands-on training, volunteerism, and internships.
  • Orient all walk-in clients about the services of the job placement cell.
  • Counsel trainees on career selection, job searching, internships, and final placement

Promotion and Linkages:

  • Develop linkages with relevant industries including hospitality and tourism industries.
  • Promote the job placement cell on various platforms and networks such as job fairs and promotional events.
  • Visit placement cells at universities and colleges to establish connections.
  • Share seasonal greeting cards with employers to maintain relationships.

Events and planning:

  • Lead and organize in- house interviews, job fairs and promotional events
  • Plan, develop DIP and budget for job placement cell
  • Organized training workshops of highflyers or alumni’s who are working abroad
  • Develop success stories and publish it on social media and sharing of data in E- Newsletters
  • Prepare and submit weekly updates, monthly plans, progress reports and quarterly reports
  • Monitor and assist job placement team 
  • Any other task assigned by the management

Mentorship and Support:

  • Establish peer mentorship opportunities where experienced trainees can guide newcomers through the job search process.
  • Provide emotional and motivational support to trainees during challenging phases of their job search.
  • Conduct focus groups with trainees to gather insights on their experiences and suggestions for improvements.
  • Research and benchmark best practices from other organizations or institutions in job placement services.
